The Sharks Dev Camp wrapped up a few days ago and the organization couldn't wait to feast their eyes on first round choice Mirco Mueller.

Both Bob McKenzie and Craig Button selected Mueller 16th in their Mock Drafts, while ISS Hockey had Mueller ranked in the 2nd round.

Mirco is 6'3", 184lbs (per hockeydb.com) and came second only to Seth Jones in rookie defenseman scoring in the WHL this past year after coming over from his native Switzerland.

The reports on Mueller are consistent:

- He needs to increase his size.

- He needs to play more physical.

- His defensive game is sound.

- He has potential to be a 2nd pairing (3-4) d-man in the NHL.

- Scouts around the league are confident that Mueller will be a mainstay in the league down the road.

It's nearly impossible that Mueller makes the Sharks this season. His size just isn't there yet and d-men are notoriously more lengthy in their proper development. Mueller will most likely start his NHL career (full-time) after two more seasons in the WHL and a season in the American Hockey League.

Not to worry, though, the chatter amongst the hockey world is that Mueller will be a very solid two-way defender in the future. If he can bulk up and become more physical, much to the tune of his 6'3" frame, the Sharks may have drafted a gem.

Here's a video of Mueller's interview at the Development Camp.

That's all for now.

Stay icy, Sharks fans.
