"As it should be................"

Just as I counted them out, they came back and scored five unanswered goals. How deflating.

Period number one saw the Sabres fanbase treated to brilliant saves by the goalposts at both ends of the ice while an invisible screen saw open nets missed that otherwise would've been quite fruitful for both teams.

The Sabres opened the scoring with a great play by Curtis Lazar coming off the bench, keeping the puck in at the lightning blueline who found a previously flattened Connor Sheary on the wing where he buried it for his 6th of the season.

Connor Sheary continues his dominance as he brings the puck into the offensive zone and backhands the puck rink-wide where two Sabres rushed in, Henri Jokiharu who stretched the play opening up the lane for Marcus Johanssons' 6th of the season. Assists by Seary and Scandella.

Ondrej Palat brings Tampa to within one but that wouldn't last long as Jimmy Vesey got his 5th of the year from Connor Sheary and a sweet spin pass from Marcus Johansson.

Now if you thought that was a highlight goal go back and watch Jack Eichel's short-handed goal, his first of his career thanks to Jake McCabe who got his bell rung by Mikhail Sergychev after sticking up for Captain Jack earning a 2-minute instigator in addition to a 5 minute major for fighting.
Jack did Gil, end to end, skating down the right side then weaving in and out of the Tampa defense deeking out the Tampa goalie depositing it in the net with a backhand. 4-1 Buffalo.

The Sabres would implode ending the second period with a 4 - 3 lead as the lightning got goals from Alex Killorn and Tyler Johnson.

I thought it a shame that the Sabres left Ullmark out to dry after Ullmark made some great saves early on in the game, saving their bacon, keeping them in the game.

A bigger shame, allowing five unanswered goals by Tampa Bay losing 6 -4 at home.

Ouch!

Just out of curiosity, If Jack requests a trade at the end of the season who would you trade him to and for what?

Drive safe, take fee taxis, AAA will tow for free and drop you off at home.
Happy New Year!

I’ve had the same thought but I give it another season. This recent trade helping both the Canadiens and Flames while doing nothing for the Sabres makes me want to say yooooour fiiiiiirrrrred!
