"Flames coverage in Ontario"
Kingston, ON • Canada • 28 Years Old • Male

With an effort last night that can only be described as "Worse that anything I have squiged out of my Ass", the Calgary Flames managed to drop their fifth game in a row last night 9-0.

I SAID NINE NOTHING!! A shut out vs nine goals.

This is disgusting!! I don't really even know what to say about it. I didn't manage to watch the game live due to prior engagements, but using my Game Center Live account and Sports Center I managed to catch more then enough of the game to form an opinion. What a piece!!! My dog ate a chocolate orange this week (in case you don't know dogs are NOT supposed to eat Chocolate) and what came out of him hours later resembled Napalm and Diarrhea. Now for perspective, I would rather watch that come out of my dogs ass then watch the game that took place last night.

Credit where its due

Buttler you assclown you had a -7.....
T.J. Brodie played 24 minutes and ended the game 0 very impressive!!

I did predict the Flames "would get squashed like the annoying mosquito they are", but never in my wildest dreams would I have seen this 9-0 coming.

FORE-SHAME!!

To think that Iginla has 499 career goals and is 1 goal away from hitting 500 and they let something like happen. I don't know about you but I don't want to think about 9 goals against when I talk about one of the greatest team captains in history getting his 500th goal. I for one am glad he didn't score last night because something that special should take place at home and be part of a great victory.

So what are we left to do here? Everyone has an opinion on what is wrong with this team.

1) Upper management and their mentality!

Ken King and friends - Lots of people have your number

2) The Coach

Brent Sutter - I feel like you sir are playing on borrowed time

3) Players

Many people feel the Flames have never bought into the system or ever clicked. The rest of them are considered too old.

Well wake-up call many of you WILL be shipped out this year, hope you enjoyed &*(ing around.

4) Lack of Players

Iginla has never had his Number 1 Center to dominate with.
Look at our D, Buttler is being played as part of our #1 pairing..

Since the start of today, there have been rumors (as always) flying around surrounding Calgary. I personally can't back them up but you must think somethings gotta give..

Maybe this is the first move in a series, but Calgary traded defense-man Brendan Mikkelson for center-man Blair Jones of the Tampa bay Lightning. I guess this is a depth move? I thought we had enough 4th liners already but here we go again. Maybe Horak gets sent down to the AHL to tighten up his game further in preparation for next year. Calgary has already announced they have reassigned Ivanans to Abbotsford.

So here it is, have we passed the point of no return? Will we ship out everyone who doesn't care (Cough Cough Bourque)? Will the coaching or upper management get fired? Things are looking Glum here in cow town, and I foresee some definite fall out from this. We could very likely see a few players shipped now and a few more come trade deadline. It was an OK ride while it lasted but if nothing else at least we might have a chance to get better.

Now let us pray Dear 8 pounds 6 ounce baby Jesus, please allow our captain Iginla to score his 500th goal at home and allow us keep it sacred.
AMEN!

*** Supposed rumor Flames sent a trade offer for Derrick Brassard ***
Guess we will see......

Funny stuff. If you write a long post it doesn't show up. Break it up into multiple posts.

Honestly as much as I wanted the current lineup to work (they look good on paper until they hit the ice) I think its finally time that something happened and someone was moved. Yeah I know what you mean, having main page exposure sure couldn't hurt when you write a blog! Thanks Gunner, came straight from the heart

Worst thing to do is Feaster to over react. No one is untouchable

Unless we are overwhelmed by deal then dont do it. The closer to deadline the > the chance for an overpayment.

Very true anyone could go at any moment! Why limit ourselves.. Just take our time till something crazy comes along. Would you do Derrick Brassard for Bourque straight across?
January 7, 2012 11:41 AM ET | Delete
Love the pics... Yes I agree we have to remain patient or else the Phaneuf fiasco could be repeated... Honestly I hope sutter stays just because this team has killed enough coahces already... time some of the players to get shipped out...

Goalies didn't play great but look at all the point blank chances and rebound chances Boston had... they were allowed to walk right in front of the net repeatedly throughout the game with no contest... geez... at least take some slashing penalties... show you care or something
January 7, 2012 11:43 AM ET | Delete
Brassard for Bourque doesn't seem that bad right now...
January 7, 2012 2:53 PM ET | Delete
Not sure about Brassard, I would wait
January 7, 2012 8:08 PM ET | Delete
Yeah he isn't overly impressive but players that get two suspensions in 15 days aren't very good either. I'm intrigued by all the flames rumors today / yesterday

Cant see Iggy going anywhere before his 500th. Hopefully tonightwill be there.
January 8, 2012 12:25 AM ET | Delete
Congrats Iginla on 500 my favorite player and my number 1 captain!
January 8, 2012 10:49 AM ET | Delete
Can't see us moving Iggy... Eks Pburg rumour sounds like BS... They won't give up what it takes... niether will Boston... The onlt team that could do it and that iggy would waive for is probably washington... but will they give up Kuznetsov or Col 1st... doubt it
January 8, 2012 10:50 AM ET | Delete
Semin is a rental with his contract... doubt that he wants to be here... The Kovalchuk and Pronger trades have set the bar... 3 top assets
January 8, 2012 10:53 AM ET | Delete
Is there a fit out there that I am not seeing? Some compelling ideas about Dallas I have read on this site but they will likely finish close to us again out of the playoffs..would he waive for Dallas? Would be hard to deal Iggy to a western team.
January 8, 2012 2:56 PM ET | Delete
BJ. The offer for Iggy would have to overwhelm us. Iggy is worth more than you think. Question is, does he want to go? If so, a deal happens before deadline. Return could be Semin(Salary balance)
January 8, 2012 2:59 PM ET | Delete
2 firsts or I dont do. Pitt would have to cough up Staal, but he got injured Friday. He is very injury prone it seems. Dallas could be best return but unlikely to happen.
January 8, 2012 8:06 PM ET | Delete
I dont question iggys value but no way pittsburg gives up staal... cant see boston giving up seguin or hamilton either... washington seems the only fit.... unless buffalo is willing to part with kassian stafford 1st... i dont know if i would pull the trigger on that either... like you say not too overwhelming
January 9, 2012 1:33 AM ET | Delete
That Buff deal wouldnt be bad. I like Kassian
January 9, 2012 9:21 AM ET | Delete
How about Kuznetsov plus a first that seems fair to me. He looked to be on a bit of a mission as he kicked our asses out of the WJC. Not bad on the buffalo idea. I could see Regher wanting to play with Iginla again but would he consider that a cup contender? I believe if he goes he wants it to be lights out for sure cup. Which bring to mind Boston, Vancouver, Chicago. Hmmm and yet none of those three would pay I don't think.
January 9, 2012 9:51 AM ET | Delete
K.. how about... kuznetsov alzner col 1st - iggy butler stemp... Assuming they find a home for semin
January 9, 2012 10:12 AM ET | Delete
trading for semin and praise doesn't make sense to me. we gig cup a leader/sniper and get a younger sniper (and definitely not a leader...if anything the opposite). Kassian I agree is good. would fit in well with our smaller younger guys (byron, horak), giving us some bulk.
January 9, 2012 10:15 AM ET | Delete
wow that was terrible auto typing....trading for semin and parise doesn't make sense to me. we give up a leader/sniper and get a younger/sniper (and definitely not a leader...if anything the opposite). Kassian I agree is good. would fit in well with our smaller younger guys (byron, horak), giving us some bulk.

I have heard is said a number of times that Gio is thought of to be the new team captain. So Numbear you think we only trade if the assets coming back would make a good team captain?
January 9, 2012 1:48 PM ET | Delete
I still think Semin
