Brendan Morrison was just traded to the Chicago BlackHawks for prospect Brian Connelly who is a 5'10 and scored 52 points over the last 80 games. Morrison was a UFA this year and was not going to be resigned. With the number of forwards we have this was the best move since it gives him a chance to win a cup this year. One can only wonder if this has to do with cap, someone returning from injury or if it's just a precursor to a bigger move. Could
Carter be making his was to Calgary?

Butler 1st 2013?? I am assuming that moving morrison was also done to shore up defensive depth in the organization allowing us to move one of our young D... likely Smith or Butler.... Of course they need a goalie and we are quite deep there too

In retrospect it was probably nothing to do with a bigger move even if one is planned. BMO is a solid guy but the injury is certainly iffy with him. Any value could be good value. He will be missed as he plays with "emotion" unlike the Bourques of the league. Now it is time for the waiting game, what will Feaster decided is the big move he needs to pull off to get a run going for the team?
