March of the Senators

Posted 8:55 PM ET | Comments 0
A complete one-sided game from start to finish for the Ottawa Senators. Game #1 of the Eastern conference quarterfinals was a brutal one to the Pittsburgh Penguins as the sens came out storming, defeating them by a score of 6-3. The Sens outshot them 37-26 and the Penguins' best period was there worst.

One point I have to throw in there was that there were WAY, and i mean WAY to many penalties being called. No wonder why the Senators were getting so frustrated near the end of the game. Some penalties deserve to be called but in playoff hockey there were some that the refs could've passed on. Even without all the Senator powerplays the Pens still would have lost though so at least the penalties didn't really affect the outcome too too much.

Besides this, good start for the Senators. The Penguins showed signs of being nervous and they have to prepare better. Ottawa was all over them.
