As the season wraps down for these two clubs both are fairly secure in their hopes for a playoff berth. Both the Coyotes and Kings are tied for 5th/6th in the West with 96 points apiece. A win for the Coyotes will seal their playoff dreams and guarantee them a spot. This will be a big game for the Desert Dogs as they will be facing a beaten up LA squad missing their superstar center Anze Kopitar. The Coyotes have had the upper hand this season against the Kings winning 3 of the first 5 matches against them. This game is all about playoff position for me. All teams want homefield advantage, and while I am confident in the Coyotes road game prowess it would be nice to take the 4th spot to block teams that are monumentally better at home than on the road like Nashville, LA, Anaheim and Chicago.

This match should see the return of three players to the lineup. Dave Tippett when speaking to the media on April 1st (Never a good sign), said we can expect the return of Ed Jovonovski, Lauri Korpikoski and Taylor Pyatt. Three really missed guys that are key cogs going into the playoffs for the Yotes. If they do lace them up this will be as close to a full healthy team as we have seen all season. Though Martin Hanzal is expected to miss the game.

The expected lineup:
Whitney-Belanger-Doan
Korpikoski-Turris-Vrbata
Boedker-Fiddler-Stempniak
Pyatt-Ebbett-Bisonnette

Yandle-Morris
Jovonovski-Aucoin
Rozsival-Lepisto

Ex: Ekman-Larsson

Bryzgalov

Prediction: 3-2 (SO) Phoenix Coyotes
It's going to be a hard fought game but with the injury to Kopitar and the return of so many key players I feel the Coyotes can pull this one off.

La is not looking good right now. if the cyotes can stay out of the box and play a sound defensive game, they should be able to control the pace and flow of the game.
