First I want to apologize for the late post. We were celebrating my 30th birthday and what an ending to an awesome night.

The game was action packed from start to finish.

I was lucky enough to be sitting in section 118, so I got an up close look at Matt Martin pounding Z. Smith of Ottawa.

So during the week people were taking jabs at the Isles saying they lack heart and toughness. Well if you watched the game last night I think you will beg to differ. Tavares and A-Mac were certainly ready and willing to mix it up out there. PA and Moulson weren't shying away from any scrums. It would have been nice to see big Z rough up Chris Neil but I guess he just wasn't worth his time.

The scoring went back and forth in the first period. The second was more of a defensive battle and finally in the 3rd the Islanders prevailed.

Congrats to Schremp for his explosive night. It would have been nice to see him land the hat trick. Grabner once again showed us what he can do and seeing him live, you really get to appreciate that lightning fast speed. He gets better by the game. Moulson scored AGAIN. Something I think we will be seeing much more of over the next 3 seasons.

Ty Wishart made a believer out of me last night. He picked up his first 2 points as an Islander. He is one big dude.

A-Mac (12 PIM) and Hamonic (2 points) are just 2 awesome players that haven't even reached their full potential. I think we are really lucky to have these 2 in our organization.

Now on to Kevin Poulin. He was shaky at times but he made some OUTSTANDING saves. Saves I do not believe DP would have made. Not because of lack of skill, simply because he would not have been in position to do so. After the first period he was just a giant wall blocking entry to the net. The hit Poulin took was pretty lame. I am glad however the Isles didn't lose sight of the big picture and that was getting a well deserved "W"!!!

When Poulin plays, these guys go out there and give it 150%. Last night was just a glimpse of what these guys will do down the road. I was totally impressed if you can't tell.

With our tickets came 2 free passes to HIGH FIVE the players as they came on to the ice for the 3rd. I guess that would be cool if I were 10 but since I am not, I decided to give my 2 tickets to a father and son combo sitting a few rows ahead of me. I hope I made that kids night. The father was very appreciative.

I want to thank all of you who follow my blog that were at the game last night that I was fortunate enough to meet. The one thing I learned is that for all the haters out there, we still have an amazing core of die hard fans that believe we have something special. We suffer together at times and I look forward to celebrating with all of you some time in the very near future.

It was an amazing night, spent with amazing people, watching an amazing team.

Please spread the word about my blog. The more people we have the louder our voices will be. Tell everyone you know to follow me and together we will REBUILD the core of the fan base.
