Soft. Stops to admire his passes. And a lot of choice words I won't use here have been used to describe Petr Nedved. Now, by no means I am I big Nedved fan, but I have to give him some props when no one else has - especially now that the NHL has given up on him, forcing him to play overseas.

As a longtime Rangers fan, when he first came to New York you saw a bit of the negative things people talked about, but once settled in, he was none of them. When the Rangers got real bad for a good stretch this guy tried to do it all for that team, things he never did in his career. He took a beating(often bad) game after game as opposing teams targeted him, knowing his rep and that no one on the team would come to his rescue; was excellent on faceoffs; even threw more than a few nice hits.

And, Nedved had one of the best wrist shots of any player... ever.

Not even the toughest-skinned, most high-and-mighty person can remain un-phased when consistently hearing bad things, so in parting I wanted to say a few nice words about the guy. Hope he hears them.

Torres - Nedved - DvorakWhat a great line to watch for the last 20 - odd games of the season before the lockout.I can only wonder if he'd have kept it together longer if he hadn't gone to Phoenix and re-signed with Edmonton......He was a shell of his former self when we brought him back last year......worth the time to experiment, but dissapointing results......All the best to Petr......

It was worth bringing him back to watch him push Jason Smith with his stick. That was awesome.

he was a great player in his prime he just had some troubles the last couple of years it seems he never adjusted to the new style of play . i was hopeing to see him do better when he went to the oilers last year but the injury bug hit again and stopped that short.
