No offense to you, but the problem with your predictions is they're very safe, I could have read them at ESPN.com. Based on "paper," your predictions make a lot of sense, but there's always surprises - every NHL season. Which is why I went out on a limb and had Vancouver making it to the Western Conference Finals, for instance. Last year everyone thought Ottawa was a lock to the finals before the season got going...just saying. You have to play the games.

I like the way you put this down, I think the playoff teams are acurate, we'll see in what order though... Also the non-playoff teams might switch up a bit, Pheonix could really do more damage than people realize, they're not so different than Chicago and have a good goalie now and lots of young good talent! I HOPE that S.J. and Calgary meet again... I think there would be some very fired up flames!!

LEAFS ARE NOT THAT BAD!!And they are certainly not worse then some of the teams you have here. You know say what you want LEAFS GET IN!

Agree with Saneopinion on Phoenix, I really think these guys are going to do well this year and surprise people. They have a tremendous amount of talent this year and grit to boot. I also think that NJ and Carolina finishing ahead of Buffalo is a no-go. The Rangers - they will suffer this year IMO. Ottawa may also have some significant challenges. If Boston plays the trap as well as they did last year they may make it.

Hope you're right!

Um, who exactly are the Leafs better than pecafan? Maybe the Thrashers and Islanders, but nobody else. And if you're going to be that bad, you might as well be the worst and get the draft pick.Flyers to the finals! I likes it

I still don't think the NJ Bruins will be better than the Sabres. I also think this may be the year that the actual NJ Brodeurs may miss the playoffs. Carolina got rid of their heart and soul (Cole) and I don't think Brindamour is ready yet but I could be wrong. AND - there is no WAY Tonto finishes behind Atlanta.

Oh Well! So much for fantasy.

Why are people ripping this poster? Atleast he has the 'nads to post his predictions -- how about the rest of you?

not4you, everyone gets ripped for predictions. i sure did, check out mine by clicking my user name. that's fine. it's part of the whole "going out on a limb and posting your predictions." it's awfully sweet though when you get stuff right cuz then you say, "hey look back..i called this months ago."

Like the Flyers in the final and I hate to say but I see the Wings repeating as well. Hopefully they won't sweep the Flyers like in 1996-97.

As much as I hate to agree with a Leafs fan, I agree with pecafan's point. They are at least a respectable that can get fans into the building. Can the Isles and Thrashers say the same. Also, millertime had a great point that good teams on paper don't always win.

God I hope you're right...Tavares or Hedman would be pretty much the best thing to happen to this team since Sundin. Maybe even better!
October 4, 2008 9:16 AM ET | Delete
The whole 'getting fans into the building' thing is a little redundant in Canada. All six teams could have 50,000 capacity stadiums and fans would be there, as long as every ticket wasn't 120$.

millertime, that's great you think my predictions are safe but I post my predictions from the heart - with no consultation from any sports network or season prediction magazine....People can blast my predictions - that's what they are for...I would hate for no Leaf fans to comment...this is MY opinion....I'm not being a homer...did you see the Flames win the cup in my predictions?!Thanks not4you, it's nice to see some support!

I'm guessing LA, ATL,or NSH will get the 1 pick in this situation.
