Ok so i don't write very much and this is not really my thing but with that being said i thought that i might weigh in on my beloved Flyers.

With Shea Weber staying in nashville what are the flyers going to do now??? seems to be the big question everyone in flyer nation has been pondering, and yes i know that Homer will most likely come up with something i heard Jay bo could be a possibility i sure hope not but that's not my call. with all that being said i was taking a look at the flyers roster and what would be coming up for next year, i know it's early but i don't care.

i found that there were a few things that maybe should be mentioned. Homer took a big risk by tendering a sheet to Weber, the only reason that i say that is because of the personal that is going to become a UFA after next season with guys like Hartnell, Simmonds, Meszaros being the big 3 that are due for new contracts 2 of which i think that Philly has to sign and 1 could go either way.

all i am saying here is that the flyers are going to be in a tight spot when it comes to the next off season harts will be looking for a raise along with simmonds if either of them have a year that they had this past one and simmonds is only going to get better, then what kind of price tag will they bring, also i know that meszaros did not have a good year but he did will the Barry Ashby trouphy the previous year if that guy shows up again he will also be looking for a new contract that holds a raise, this is not even counting whether or not timmonen will be back after this season or if philly will resign him, if he does chose to play at all remains up to him and what this season will bring, but if he does how much do you pay the aging workhorse?.

Now with all that being said, those are the four biggest things that will have to be dealt with at the season's end, you have to either sign or trade or do whatever Homer is thinking with these 4 guys going on the fact that you will have your biggest superstar and 2 of your biggest potential stars coming up for contract renew the next year, Giroux, Braydon Schenn, Sean coturier. Giroux will be taking a huge pay increase over the 3.75 mill that he was previously paid along with the other 2 guys shaping up to be stars in the nhl they could also bring in a potentially large price tag.

I know that it's a long time away and i am positive that the Flyers are way ahead of all of us on this stuff but i could see a potential for big changes coming inside the philly nation, i am excited and curious to see whats going to happen over the next couple years.

No trouble at all.

They will sign a couple of extensions during the year to minimize future cap hits. No worries! Hartnell probably gets resigned before the all star break.

The Flyers are in good shape moving forward. It would be a lot more difficult to keep the young guys had the offer sheet to Weber worked.

Timonen is retiring after his contract expires from what I understand.

Giroux will get his money. Kimmo's contract expires after the season. So does Lilja. That's over 7 Million for players that won't be resigned. Kimmo may be resigned, but with his age and health issues, his value will drop. That's plenty of money to give G his extra 4 million and Harnell another 1-2 million. Not to mention that there is still the extra LTIR money for Pronger. I don't see any issues. They will be fine.

love it all. weber would've been nice, but not at the expense of our insanely talented core of youth.

Flyers have almost 16 million to replace or re-sign Hartnell, Simmons, Feds and a Dman. Plenty of $$$ next year. That doesn;t include existing cap space.

Meszaros has 2 years left on his contract. That kinda kills most of your arguments in the article. Do some research before you post a blog.

Two questions: 1. Is your shift button on random or do you just not care?2. Why are you looking so far ahead, not that it's not important, but we still have a season in between your woes?In all sincerety though, I believe we're always concerned with the off season signings and what not, but the team always makes it happen with the least amount of pain! Go Flyers in 2012-13!

Couturier*

Flyers will be fine. Although if they would have gotten a monster in weber had the offer not been matched, this leaves a huge chunk of money to resign schenn and couturier in future seasons. No need to look to so far in the future. I have a feeling the flyers have ano unreal year this year. Brizzy will come back to phoenix form and the rookies andyounger players that got so much experience from the previous season, the flyers will have another year and many more for Cup contention
