Avs erase slow start to defeat Carolina 4-3 with Pickard

Ladies and gentleman, the cardiac kids are back. Colorado was down two goals twice tonight and roared back to win 4-3 against the Hurricanes at the Pepsi Center. Reto Berra started the game but was pulled late in the first period after surrendering three goals on 10 shots. With Varlamov still suffering from a groin injury, the Avs backup goalie was Calvin Pickard. He came in relief of Berra and was a perfect 17 for 17. The rookie goaltender earned his first career NHL victory.
