Avs lose to Montreal, still unable to get to .500

The Avalanche lost to Montreal 4-3 Monday night in Denver and was denied a chance to reach .500 hockey once again. The game was tied at three heading into the third period but a late goal from Max Pacioretty gave the Canadiens the victory. Montreal won both contests against the Avs this season with Calvin Pickard in net.
Colorado received goals from Danny Briere, Ryan O’Reilly, and Tyson Barrie. Briere’s goal came late in the first period and was his fourth in six games. This came shortly after he sat for seven straight games earlier in the season.
