Tis the season...

To at least save some face in the eyes of hockey fans everywhere! Hallellujah to that! Whilst we still have our challenges here in the northern most NHL city of Edmonton, things are definately looking up. The change from last years team to this years team is almost too good to be true. But I (and everyone else here) hopes that it all lasts. I'm not going to jump my guns and say we'll be a playoff team BUT it could happen. I'm just saying at this point in the season, it doesn't look like we'll be the 30th team either.

We were watching hockey night in Canada not too long ago and Scott Oakes from CBCs Hockey Night in Canada described Ryan Nugent Hopkins as "vulpine" meaning foxlike. I think it is a wonderful adjective for him. He is definately surpassing my expectations of him. Personally, I didn't even think he would make the team this year. This kid is crafty and harder than expected to knock off the puck.

Another joyous thing about the Oilers is that our Mullet Messiah is back. Not to mention that he has 22 points in 21 games or some shizz like that. I don't care for snot why he came back, I'm just glad he did. I can not think of a better mentor for all the hockey puppies in our organization that "bleeds copper and blue" Mr. Smyth!

That is all for now.
