"Sabres Win Cup!"
Lancaster, NY • United States • 36 Years Old • Male
What in the hell happened here? Three games totally dominated by Ottawa. No “ifs, ands or buts” about it. No excuses. A thorough beating. PERIOD.

So… now I have to come up with a few reasons to make myself believe that the Sabres are on the verge of a monumental comeback. Here it goes.

They can replace Kalinin.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a such a turnaround in effectiveness by a player in my life. He was the best defensemen on the team through the first two rounds. All of the sudden, he is absolutely lost! He is a turnover machine. Put in Paetsch. No question this move needs to be made.

They are due for a lucky bounce.
I don’t think I’ve seen a lucky bounce or lucky turnover go the Sabres way this series. Every random, blind tip has found itself directly to an Ottawa stick. The sabers NEED a lucky bounce early in game four to get at least an inkling of momentum and they are certainly due.

They are known for comebacks.
Looking back at this season, perhaps the most memorable moments were the comebacks. They specialized in it. How about being down 4–1 against Toronto in the third period? Vanek, Briere, Pominville and Stafford scored in a 10min stretch the pull out the win. Drury’s and Briere’s last second goals to force overtime. This team specializes in comebacks.

Well that's all I've got. Kalinin, luck and comebacks. Feel free to add more in the comments.

Win game four and go back home and win again. Then all the pressure is on Ottawa for Game six! It’s possible… Keep the faith Sabre-nation!

Rock on brother. I still believe, but it's gonna take a whole lot of work to get it done. The biggest question I have is if this team is willing. I know a couple guys are, but they need everyone to buy in.

I'm surprised they're down 3 -0. The thing with comebacks though, is that you can become too dependent on them, almost banking on someone pulling a win out of their ass in the final minute to make up for the 59 minutes of shoddy play.I won't believe the Sabres are done until the final buzzer, but Ottawa isn't Toronto and this is way bigger than being down 4-1 in a game.Kalinin isn't reason you powerplay is 0-18. I agree he's sucked, but replacing Kalinin isn't the sole answer. Your go to guys have to play better.Good teams make their bounces, as shown by the lone goal last night.

0-18 on the PP for the series and 15 shots last game. I'd like to see them comeback make a series out of this, but everyone up and down the lineup has to do more. Ottawa, like Buffalo, is deep in talent but they have been working harder than the Sabres. They want it more.

It's wishful thinking for sure. The Sabres PP has been their achilles heel all season. If you don't have a strong foundation to start with, how can you expect the PP to perform in the playoffs? The only chance you have/had was to play Drew Stafford to get Afino with Connolly. That would have lined up the four lines better against the Sens. Four lines can hit you in different waves and modes. What is interesting is to see who will try to step up in Game 4, and who will follow him. The Sens will be ready, question is will the Sabres decide to show up for all 60 minutes.

It certainly is wishful thinking... but what other choice do I have? To accept defeat now? maybe a true "Defeatist Buffalo fan" would throw in the towel at this point... maybe i'm not a fan cause i still have faith?

Definitely Wishful thinking

Cleon- Have faith. It's all you do have at this point. Just don't hang your hat on that scenario happening. The Sens aren't going to lose 4 straight.

We DO have Drury

That's a good fan there, CD. Even in the face of impossible odds you hold out some small glimmer of hope and refuse to just your boys off. Just the way it should be. Sure a comeback is improbable....but not impossible. Way to stay true to the gold and blue.

Sabres in 7, steal on in Ottawa and then we will win in Buffalo and the Pressure goes right to the Sens- Drury will have his boys ready and I still have all the confidence in the Sabres

I believe - that the Sens will take Game 4. They're simply playing too well. And if Lindy doesn't put in Paetsch for Game 4 he's an idiot.
