The new Hawk

Posted 3:48 PM ET | Comments 0
As we wait for the two big name players to decide on their future teams, lets take a look at the newest Blackhawk, Sheldon Brookbank.
Although it is safe to say Sheldon is no Ryan Suter, adding the 6'2"" Canadian blue liner is a positive addition for Chicago.
If I were to compare Sheldon to a current hawk it would have to be Johnny Oduya, also a new Hawk who Bowman was very pleased to acquire from the Jets. Oduya did not play his greatest hockey in the Indian head sweater, but he is a solid player who like Brookbank is a good fit in Chicago.
Sheldon's greatest asset is playing on the PK, and knowing the Hawks, they will need some help in that department. Brookbank tallied 14 points last season with the Ducks.
Chicago should welcome Brookbank to the Hawks because I see him helping the team more than hurting them.
