The Oilers are rich in depth of prospect defenseman. But only 2 of them are ready to start next year (With potential). Edmonton needs size on the center, because Gagner cannot win a faceoff, nor can Nuge. They both did make an improvement in defense this year. So what do we draft? Dubynk can show that he can stand on his head when the Oilers need him, our top six is great, especially is Gagner is moved to the wing. Our bottom six though… horrible. So what should happen at the draft is either: We draft Monahan, if he is still there of course. Or draft Zadrov or Nurse. Or possible move our 1st and Hemsky for a developed center that can win faceoffs. There is also the free agency, where Clowe, Iginla, and Backstrom and many more are. Saku Koivu would be a good 4th line center; Teemu Hartikainen will be ready for next year as a 3rd/4th line LW (Or 3rd RW). If we don’t get Monahan, we can sign Derek Roy, so lines would look like this:

Forwards:

LW C RW

1. Hall Nugent-Hopkins Yakupov

2. Gagner Roy/Monahan Eberle

3. Paarajvi Horcoff Hartikainen

4. Smyth/ Petrell Lander Brown

Defense: 1. Smid (J.) Schultz

2. Petry Klefbom

3. Nurse/ Marincin (N) Schultz

Goalies: Dubynk

Random UFA

This doesn’t exactly help the bottom six, just adds to our top 6, Pascal Dupuis can be on RW third line, and Brown can stay on the 4th line. We are stuck with Horcoff, and Smuth, but he can be more depth. So this is practically what it should look like, but hey, you never know.
