Rake up the leafs

Posted 2:34 AM ET | Comments 7
The leafs are the worst team in the league by far. They are just lucky they are not in the western conference. The East does them a small bit of justice because of it's mediocrity. I can't belive this team, after getting their asses handed to them last night against the ducks they come out with an effort like that. The leafs have to get rid of Raycroft he is horrible. Put him on waivers or buy the guy out w/e it takes he is not an NHL caliber goalie at all. I don’t care if the guy got 37 wins that was then this is now. He had no clue where the puck was half the night and let in soft goal after soft goal. I hope to god that they announce that Maurice and JFJ are fired tomorrow. I know it won’t happen but it would be nice. They need a GM that is willing to rebuild and JFJ is to bust about losing his job to do the right thing. Maurice has totally lost the guys. The coach has to be able to get the players to play and Maurice clearly can't get the job done. The Maple leafs management have to clearly rebuild the franchise. They are going to have to analyze the current roster and make decisions on who is the problem and who is part of the answer and act accordingly. This is a franchise with deep pockets they owe it to the fans to buy out some of the absurd contracts that JFJ signed if they cannot trade or move them and start the rebuild. Muckler would be a good GM look what he did with the Sens. That Sens team was built by Muckler. He knows the game and knows how to build a winner. I don't care who they hire as long as it's some new blood and someone who isn't afraid to turn this thing around.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying but the problem starts at the top....as long as Petty keeps sticking his nose in the running of the hockey team it's going to be tough on any general manager. I would even go as far as saying if Petty doesn't back off no GM that is actually worth while having would even consider toronto.

Raycroft might have got 37 wins, but didn't he play in about 70-odd games last season. The guy is tat and needs to be shipped out, somehow, very quickly. It's a top-to-bottom restructure job now for the Leafs and nothing else.

actually, Tampa and LA are still worse... which, as a Leafs fan, is quite unfortunate

Toskala was in net for that game. But he still played well. Bertuzzi's goal was a break away. The Perry one he should have had. The Kunits goal he had no help at all on same with the Bochenski and doug weights.

Toskala is part of the solution I have no problem at all wit him. Look at some of the saves he made after taking over for Raycroft last night. Another guy I like more and more every game is Steen. I also liked the play of Stralman. Other then that they can all be moved.

Why don't you Leaf fans just boycott the team already? A hockey person does not own this team. The only way the team is gonna make any change is if MLSE loses money. How will MLSE lose money? If no one shows up to the games. Send a message to this pathetic organization that the fans refuse to stand for mediocraty in the so called "Mecca" of hockey.
