The Flyers outplayed the Caps in DC for 5 of 6 periods of hockey. This shows what I was stating in earlier posts. The Flyers are deeper and more talented overall today. But this Caps team is going to be really good in a year or two. As long as the Flyers play 60 minutes, they should win this series in 6 games.

Game 1
Briere, Prospal and Hartnell dominated the first 2 periods to build the lead. Biron would love to have the 3rd goal back. That is a shot he feels he should stop every time. It was unfortunate that the 4th goal in Game 1 that Thorensen got injured on the play about 15 seconds before the goal. Glad he is doing ok now and a really classy move by Green to call the Flyers trainer to check on him! During that play, the Caps were on a powerplay and the injury allowed Green to walk in unopposed to tie the game. It is one of those plays that sometimes get stopped, but no blame to anyone. On the 5th goal, Ovechkin made a superstar play. Plays like this one are why he should be the MVP this season. First he forced a pass, then attacked the receiver, stole the puck and scored! He was 1 on 3 and they had the puck, yet he scored! WOW.

Game 2
The Flyers and Biron outplayed the Caps. Yes Biron made some key saves, but overall Green was punished physically every chance the Flyers had and since it is impossible to contain Ovechkin, the Flyers took away the ability of the Caps to pass the puck to him. He looked a little confused why he couldn't get the puck. The Flyers better be ready to have other plans as the same play will not contain him all series. Coburn has quickly become the Flyers top defenseman. He is the shutdown guy and is learning to play on the powerplay too! What a steal. Atlanta must get sick watching him play one year after trading him. They had a young stud and let him go.

The depth of the Flyers forwards is already starting to wear down the Washington defense. The pressure is forcing bad passes and puck possession for the Flyers. Upshall and Hartnell are hated in DC already. They are super pests with alot of skill.

I agree Flyers in 6, while green had a great game in the third period of game 1, he was totally taken out of his game in game 2.Also Ovechkin was kept in check all of game 2, i don't expect he'll be shut out the rest of the series, but if he can be kept under control this Caps team really suffers.

I have to say fly guys in 6 also. I agree with flyersfan92. Ovie won't be completely shut out of the series. But, if the flyers can play all areas consistantly... I feel we will take this.. LETS GO FLYERS
