Tragedy Strikes Toronto

I am a father.

I have four children who are individually and collectively the biggest and brightest pieces of my life. I ache because I cannot do more for them. Sometimes, as children do, they can be testy and they can push me to my limits of patience. Sometimes I yell. Yet no matter what, these are my little flashes of light, and the joy they bring me is immeasurable. So too is the thought of anything ever happening to them.

This evening, the Toronto Maple Leafs played the New Jersey Devils. They held a 3-1 lead going into the third period. Then they imploded, giving up 3 goals in the final 3:04 and losing the game. That they lost the game is the least of their concerns, I’m sure.
