Same Old Jackets.

Before the season started, there was so much hope that this year would be different with the likes of Carter, Wisnewski and Prospal joining the club. Hopes that maybe this will be the year that Steve Mason finally plays like he did in his rookie year. The excitement has been replaced with calls for the heads of everyone from Howson to Arniel to Mason to Nash. I guess that is what happens when you begin the season 0-5-1.

So far this season there has not been a single bright spot on this club, oh wait they got sent down to the farm (Cam Atkinson, Matt Calvert). The downfall started with the selfishness of Wisnewski getting suspended for the first 8 games of the season on a very unnecessary elbow to the head of Cal Clutterbuck. Look i am not saying he is the savior of this franchise but i would bet the jackets would be better than 2-30 on the PP, which would have translated into at least a win or two.

Steve Mason has been average some of the time and downright awful the rest of the time. Unfortunately the Jackets don't have anyone that can replace him as 3 other goalies are injured. Mr. Howson continues to sit pat instead of getting another goalie. How about Nabokov or Turko, at this point anyone would be better than Mason.
The fans are fed up with this mediocre franchise as evident by the average of 9000 or so fans. Something needs to be done and soon or the Blue Jackets will be playing in front of only Mr. Howson and Stinger.
