We are now almost a month into the 2011-12 NHL season, so I decided to take a look at the top performers thus far and create the First Month All-Star team. The rules are simple every team must have a representative. Once each team has their rep then the best players are selected. I have selected the top 24 forwards, 12 defenseman and 6 goaltenders, while also selecting an equal amount of Eastern and Western conference representatives.

So here we go:

Forwards
- Nik Antropov, Winnipeg Jets
- Nicklas Backstrom, Washington Capitals
- Matt Cullen, Minnesota Wild
- Patrik Elias, New Jersey Devils
- Claude Giroux, Philadelphia Flyers
- Jerome Iginla, Calgary Flames
- Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawks
- Phil Kessel, Toronto Maple Leafs
- Anze Kopitar, Los Angeles Kings
- David Legwand, Nashville Predators
- Joffrey Lupul, Toronto Maple Leafs
- Rick Nash, Columbus Blue Jackets
- Joe Pavelski, San Jose Sharks
- Jason Pominville, Buffalo Sabres
- Daniel Sedin, Vancouver Canucks
- Henrik Sedin, Vancouver Canucks
- Tyler Seguin, Boston Bruins
- Teemu Selanne, Anaheim Ducks
- Jeff Skinner, Carolina Hurricanes
- Jason Spezza, Ottawa Senators
- Thomas Vanek, Buffalo Sabres
- Kris Versteeg, Florida Panthers
- Ray Whitney, Phoenix Coyotes

Defenseman
- Marc-Andre Bergeron, Tampa Bay Lightning
- Alexander Edler, Vancouver Canucks
- Erik Karlsson, Ottawa Senators
- Nick Leddy, Chicago Blackhawks
- Kris Letang, Pittsburgh Penguins
- Nicklas Lidstrom, Detroit Red Wings
- Dion Phaneuf, Toronto Maple Leafs
- Kyle Quincy, Colorado Avalanche
- Kevin Shattenkirk, St. Louis Blues
- Sheldon Souray, Dallas Stars
- Mark Streit, New York Islanders
- Dennis Wideman, Washington Capitals

Goalies
- Marc-Andre Fleury, Pittsburgh Penguins
- Nikolai Khabibulin, Edmonton Oilers
- Kari Lehtonen, Dallas Stars
- Henrik Lundqvist, New York Rangers
- Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings
- Pekka Rinne, Nashville Predators

As with any All-Star team selections there are going to be players overlooked, so who do you think should be on the team?? Who do you think is going to fall off the map after a great start?? And who do you think will maintain strong play throughout the season??
