I have called Cablevision twice inquiring about the Center Ice package. At first I was told they weren't taking orders for it yet, but they would automatically add it to my bill once it did. OK, not a problem

Well, I noticed on the io.tv site that it's the only sports package that is not listed, so I called again today, and I was told there is some dispute between Cablevision and the NHL.

Considering the season is starting, I really hope this gets resolved ASAP! Anyone know what this dispute is about?

Updated: It gets better: today I called them and was told everything was worked out and that the games would be on tonight. I'd also be getting an email explaining the whole situation.

Can you say BIG LIE? There still is no availability, apparently the person was totally lying to me, since a second call to them informed me of no agreement yet. Oh, I never got an email either...

If only I was allowed sattelite at my apartment complex...

I've made the same call, and the agent hypothesized it has something to do with sattelite exclusivity. Multiple cables sytems haven't started selling CI yet. I hope it all gets straightened out.

Amazing considering that the owner of an NHL team also owns Cablevision!

WOW, good to see I'm not the only one. I've been told twice by these thieves that they are "Working on acquiring the rights." This was the last update they had which was from 9/19 and this was from a dicussion I had 9/27. Probber this has nothing to do with satellite other cable companies such as Cox have it. I just hope my apartment building will let me put up a satellite next week.

That blubbering moron over there in NY has had a dispute with just about every team in every league....usually they get resolved when there is public uproar, I fear the NHL will not recieve the same uproar as when he pulled this crap with the stations the Mets and Yankees play on......

If Center Ice is going HD I can see getting it, but other wise here in NYC we get a good amount of hockey on our cabel. Besides if I want till watch a hockey game with no one in the stands I just go to The Devils Arena when they are not playing the Rangers

MSG is in a dispute with the NHL regarding the fact that the NHL wants to take over all commercial aspects of a hockey team. As a result the NHL is demanding that the Rangers turn over control of their website and other promotions. When MSG refused the NHL began fining the Rangers. So MSG is suing the NHL charging a violation of antitrust laws. One might, um, speculate that this could have an affect on when Center Ice becomes available to the public on Cablevision. For those of us with Cablevision it pretty much sucks. Also, those speculating about HD Center Ice on Cablevision, forget it. They don't even do it for baseball. I believe it is because they do not have enough bandwidth or something like that but I could be wrong about that part of it.
