Whats Up with Marty?

Posted 2:05 PM ET | Comments 5
Nobody can dispute the value of Martin Brodeur. To his team, to the league and to the goaltender position, there is arguably nobody more reliable than Marty. If I wanted to build a team around a goaltender, he'd be my guy and his numbers over the last 10 year can make my case for me. Having said all that, he just does not look right in the 07 playoffs. Goals are being scored from all angles. 4 goals in one period scored on his glove hand side, a glove hand that very rarely lets one slip by?? He appears to be somewhere else mentally. He had a good stretch in the series with TB but still did not look Brodeur of years past.

Am I crazy or is anybody else noticing this?

man, marty isn't getting any younger....yet, those idiots in jersey find it neccessary to play him into the ground during the regular season....i called it last season and this season>>>>when los diablos go to the playoffs, they're not going to do anything because brody is going to be too shot....luongo can do it because he's what???, 7 years younger than marty???......as much as we'd like to think he is, marty ain't no robot machine; he's a human being with a shelf-life and, unfortunately for hockey, his expiration date may be coming sooner than anyone previously thought.....c'mon, think about it>>>>there were only 4 games this season in which brodeur did not make an appearance and one of those was the last game of the season (remember that, toronto fans????!!!!????)....

He just doesn't look comfortable or confident at all. He really does look a little worn down.

Looks good on the devils I think,They play this guy like a machine and wonder why he looks bad the last 2 playoff years.Marty cares about winning cups but unfortunitly cares about personal records just as much.
