Thoughts on the Avs.

It's Funny how things work. Before yesterday's win against the 'Canes, the Avalanche had lost two straight games to the Wings and Caps despite getting terrific goaltending from José Théodore ( yes I said terrific goaltending from José Théodore.) In those two games, Théo made save after save, while the offence struggled to get the slightest scoring chance. We lost 1-0, and 2-1. This frustrated every Av fan because we have witnessed so many strong performances from the team cancelled by lousy goaltending. And now we finally get the goaltending, and the offence can't muster anything.

Fast forward to yesterday, and the opposite happens. Théodore while not being bad, was very average. The offence, however, managed to score 5 goals, and 3 in the third period when they were trailing 4-2. The Svats machine scored 2 goals to make it 9 goals in his last 10 games. Paul Stastny and Milan Hejduk finally got out of their slump by scoring goals. Even grinder Cody Mcleod scored a goal. What if Théodore knew that when he was solid the Avs sucked, and decided to be just average so that the team would be good? AHA, there's the solution! Obviously, this it bull****. But I really don't care. The only thing I care about is getting W's on the board. I can live with Théo or Budaj having less then stellar performances every once in a while (long whiles), if their play is good most of the time.

Tonight the Avalanche are in Florida, where they will battle the Panthers. Here's the perfect scenario: The offence plays a good game, like we all know they are able to, and whichever goalie gets the nod plays well ( it should be Théo, but he played yesterday and with Q you never know). Go Avs!!
