The Dallas Stars beat the Kings in a shootout 3-2. Dallas out shot the Kings, however Erik Ersberg stood tall stopping many good chances in the first two periods. Dustin Brown put the Kings up 1-0 in the third . Jere Lehtinen tied slicing through the defense . Mike Riebero put the Stars ahead 2-1. In what is a good summary of the Stars season the Kings pulled Ersberg and scored with less than 20 seconds. Overtime solved nothing, but it was cool to see the teams skate 3 on 3 for the start of overtime. Riebero scored the only goal in the shootout. Yes Dallas got 2 points it needed but did also allowed the Kings a point. The Stars inability to finish early in the game led to the need to go the extra distance.
