Howdy from a rain-soaked nation's capital...Ottawa not Washington. Obama will be here though next week, for about 5 hours.

Excellent game last night from our Sens. Elliott was outstanding in goal and the club didn't look like a road team for once. They were agressive when needed and did a fantastic job on the PK, though without Thoms Vanek in the lineup Buffalo's PP had nobody in front of Elliott.

Philly will have captin Mike Richards back in the lineup among some others tonight vs Ottawa. I figure Clouston will use Elliott again. If Philly goes with Biron in nets, then the Sens have a much better chance at winning.

As per the Camden Courier-Post AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms and former Sens and 'Bingo coach John Paddock had some interesting words for GM Bryan Murray and Owner Eugene Melnyk. "I think now he's next in line," Paddock told the Courier-Post. "We were 14 games over .500 when I was fired. They're seven under now. Somebody needs to take responsibility for that. Whether the coaches he hired and fired were good or not, they're his players and they're either not playing good or can't play, one or the other."

And as for that "...they're either not playing good or can't play, one or the other." line here is Paddock's take. "The players are not very good, that's the problem,".

Well then. Sour grapes ala Don Cherry or does Paddock have a point? Obviously you know my take is Murray should have been canned not Hartsburg, but what's yours? As for Paddock's record so far in the AHL his squad is 28-22-1-1 and four points back of our AHL team Binghamton.

niittymaki will be in net for the flyers tonight. I won't talk about if paddock has a point or not but i will agree with you saying that murray should of been canned and i can not see how he still has his job. Paddock's record in the ahl has gone down because the flyers have taken alot of his players this year including giroux, ross, monroe, and now parent for good. Paddock has done a good job with the phantoms.

Paddock probably picked the worst time to open his mouth, right when a new coach has the Sens winning for a change. Maybe it really was the coach's fault.....

Hey Flyers88, I was going to make the point that Philly has had a ton of call-ups, but so did the Sens and ours would have hurt the AHL club worse. I've always liked Nittymaki, hope he grabs the starting job for good this time. As for tyler_31 you knew it was a matter of time before the Sens would start winning somewhat...or you would have since I've been saying it since late Decemeber in blogs. Buffalo isn't exactly the best team in the league, and the wins look more impressive given our poor season thus far. However the timing is a bit strange, usually you stab your former boss right after being fired during the anger stage. Quite frankly he should be over this by now.
