The Blues have brought many good players into there system. The thing is they all where old. Kariya is bringing them in the right direction. They still won't be a playoff contender, they need alot more, but they will be better.

yes he is what st. ;ouis needs. yes there are some age issues. st. louis is now deep in organizational talent and has surpassed buffalo's organizational talent level. buffalo might want to to learn something about defensemen who can check and stay at home more than just puck movers who can't take any pressure. i was in buffalo watching the senators series. two galring weaknesses of the sabres: one)inability to forecheck. 2)inability to with stand a forecheck. both of these factors led to their dismissal. cause they had outstanding speed that heavily relied upon good first passes out of the d-zone. but when those weaklings(not as good of a word as more explicit one), like kotalik had any pressure on themselves they mostly made a bad pass or coughed up the puck. it got so bad we hoped the sabres wouldn't have any powerplays called for themselves. but to answer you, the blues will be in the playoffs this year and they will compete for the cup. cause as buffalo and ottwa learned this year, offense wins games and defense wins championships. and we got the d baby and now we got the offense to boot.
