Sutter came out and said he doesn't expect too much activity at the deadline from the Flames. This can also be translated as: Like I would tell you Mr. Journalist if we are going to be busy, i lie to the media about player movement on purpose because I don't give a flying crap about you.

Simply the Flames have too many forwards and logic dictates some have to go. In addition the Flames do not have a 1st or 2nd round pick this year so I would expect that the players moved will be for considerations not players. I can also predict in the off season a D-man will be traded, if Kronvall couldn't make the team on a one way contract this year I don't see why they keep him next year.

Hagman can stay if he brings his Olympic scoring to Calgary, he's been really impressive and I hope him and Kipper have good luck against the USA today in men's Olympic hockey, not because I'm anti-usa or anything but just because they play for the Flames.

The Women having some beer and a cigar at center ice well after the spectators had left the building is much ado about nothing. I do not here anyone coming down on Montgomery for his pitcher of beer walk, in fact I've heard it's, "... the most memorable walk after a performance in Canadian Olympic History...".

I watched a TV series on the summit series and at the end those guys walk on the ice with their beer and have a cigar, I'm not sure if that ever happened or not in realty but would anyone tell them they didn't deserve it? These women won Gold for their country and I say if they want beer or champagne or fanta give it to them!

Bourque at 3.3 mil per year is a good deal, in my mind the contract length is why it wasn't higher, they both said they wanted it long term but you can't believe anything they say. Sutter said Phanuef wasn't going anywhere two weeks before he moved... My question here is if the Bourque contract is 3.3. and Sutter gave him 6 years to keep it that low, what does Sutter have planned that he needs the extra cap space...hmmmm.

HOw is the woman thing such a big deal? We watch NHL teams celebrate with alcohol every year. Was Sid the Kid legal last year? Pretty sure the legal age in PA is 21.

There's a lot of examples going around, it should not have been a big deal.

Why did Canada apologize for that? What a bunch of wimps! Who cares if the IOC or anybody doesn't like it. Someone in the Canadian Olympic organization or government should tell the IOC, this is OUR country, OUR womens hockey team and they can celebrate any way they want to and if you don't like it, leave and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

The IOC, and the IIHF for that matter, are just a bunch of whiny Euro trash snobs. Anyone who comes down on their side of things in this arguement has far too much time on their hands. If ya don't like the way we do things way out here in the colonies,... stay the hell home.

To me, it smells an awful lot like American sour grapes... the most 'outraged' parties seem to be south of the border.

Essentially, the Flames don't have a 2nd rounder this year because it goes to Chicago to complete the Bourque trade (which was for either a 2009 or 2010 2nd rounder, and Calgary traded their only 2009 2nd rounder at the deadline last year for leopold)
