Jarome Iginla will get 30 goals this year. You heard it here first, it is probably the safest prediction I have made to date considering he's always got 30 in recent memory. My other prediction is that Calgary will not have a number one center for him no matter what.

You may think this is another easy prediction considering the salary cap of the Flames and their inability to move but I actually expect Darryl will try to redeem himself and make a big splash, possibly for a center. I will just make this known right now though, whoever he brings in will not work with Iginla. Why?

Iginla is the Anti-Chemistry.

I could probably play with Crosby for 4 games and get 6 points, Crosby is that good, yet at the Olympics, aside from one shining everlasting goal, they had very little chemistry. At the previous Olympics he played with Bertuzzi and they showed a little chemistry but it was realized very quickly that what ever they had left before Bertuzzi arrived in the Flaming "C". The Olympics before that he played with Sakic and Gagne, that's a pretty good line! Once again they had one decent game when it counted but the vast majority of the tournament they labored together.

Jokinen- Chemistry lasted four or five games.

Stajan- Chemistry lasted two games

In fact Craig Conroy enjoys the longest streak as Iginla's number one center and his years are done, sad but true. Langkow and Iginla seem to not want to play together, I am not sure what is up there but I will find out one day! Either way finding a center for Jarome is the NHL version of the quest for the Holy Grail. He simply just does his thing and bringing in someone just to play with him is a mistake, he will get his goals with whomever they put out there because his goals come from a rocket shot that has lost a little of it's accuracy year after year but is still elite.

If a trade is made for a center or a signing is made I hope it's for the future because the present is already fading, 30 goals might not seem like fading unless you talk about a guy who got 50, when he gets 25 and then 17 and then 15 we will have wondered what could have been if Iginla, as good as he is, wasn't the Anti-Chemistry.

I do agree though, not sure why everyone was up in arms when he "wasnt scoring" with Cammy, Cammy was getting the goals and Iggy the assists, I was just fine with that duo and Cammy was the only forward that has played well ALONG with Iggy in quite some time

54 assists to Cammys 39 goals. That pair had chemistry. He needs someone who can play the onetime pass plays going both ways. Camm loved the onetimer from the top of the circle. This kept goalies guessing when iginla broke down the side. He could a) dish it to cammy for the shot ont he opposite wing, or b) fire the signature snap love blocker side. It made no sense to put Jokinen on his line nevermind this team.

I say unload Reggy and a 2nd rounder for spezza

Interesting because my suggestion is that Iggy play center and we find a scoring winger for him to pass to which are easier to find than a number one center. Spezza may find playing with Iggy is just like playing with Heatley as well, I would fault anyone for that trade if it went down.

Iggy has been the most consistent player on this team, I do beleive that one of the big contracts will be moved.

Cammy seemed to play alright with him :( So who thinks Kisio will be the next GM of the Flames?

I think Kisio will be invloved but I'm not sure to what extent yet. Sutter would have been canned by now if they were going to do it but he's on thin thin ice.

I have been told by several Media personalities that Sutter is staying it would of happened by now.

Marleau would be a great compliment to Iggy. I like the idea of Spezza, but I doubt OTT would give up on their only frontline star not up in the yrs ala Alfie. Esp for Reggie.

Marleau is high on Sutter's list for sure but the fans will cry about how he disappears year after year in the playoffs. In addition he will be very pricey due to the fact this years UFA's SUCK. Seriously there's like 6-7 decent players and the rest drop.

We have to many ugly contracts the only way we get Marleau is Dumping one of the major contracts.

If it is true they are thinking of a trade, wouldnt Malkin look good in Calgary. Seriously, Kipper is the key. Look whose in the final

We would really have to clear a lot Cap can the Pens take cap back?
May 25, 2010 11:47 PM ET | Delete
How is Toskala any worse than Boucher Leighton or Niemi. Kipper to Washington for Semin

Semin Would be great for the Flames.

Iginla is not a natural centre though. Spezza wants out and Ottawa needs a rebuild. They will sign or trade for a big player. If Spezza is traded, watch Ottawa to recieve a huge player. Another trade purposal could be:Ottawa tradesSpezzaLeclaire3rdCaalgray tradesKipperReggie2nd

Crosby is actually a little like Iginla in that way. I know, aside from Hossa, he never really had a "star" winger with him...but I am starting to worry with the cap and free agency situations as they are, that the Pens will never find a fit for Crosby's wing who is a) in the price range and b) able to mesh well with Sid
May 26, 2010 2:08 PM ET | Delete
1) pens are not trading for Kipper. Fleury won them a cup and is younger2) semin fights like a girl , and disappears in clutch3) Marleau is clutch

Centres are the key to a wingers success always. Anyone playing on Crosby or Thornton's wing will inherit points. Unfortunately, great wingers don't make centers better. It just doesn't work that way. If we can start over with a superstar center and work our way up, that formula works better. Flames fans would hate it but Iggy for J.Staal . That kid is a gold mine hiding under a mountain; I'm telling you.
May 26, 2010 8:22 PM ET | Delete
that is the stupidest trade i have ever heard. are you reisbrough?
May 27, 2010 12:25 AM ET | Delete
Let Iggy finish his career in peace, getting 25-30 goals like clockwork, we need to shop for his successor

some more trade offers for the flames would be:Kipper, Regehr for Carter and Boucher: Semin, Green 1st rounder for Regehr, Iginla and 2nd rounderTRADES WILL NEVER HAPPEN JUST SOME SUGGESTIONS TO KEEP THE TALK GOING FOR FLAMES RUMORS BECAUSE ODDLY THEY ARE THE MOST INTERESTING.
May 28, 2010 4:28 PM ET | Delete
You're not thinking long term buddy. Staal is 10 years younger than Iginla. There's a reason most Pens fans wouldn't take Iginla for Staal. When both fan bases nix a trade someone is being under or over valued if not both. We'd also get cap space for better wingers.
