Starting off with the rumors, there's a lot this week. The one rumor I'm hearing a lot is Jason Allison. I heard from my most reliable source that the Islanders will either sign him this week or invite him to training camp. I feel they are more likely to sign him then invite him. The reason for that is because Jason put up tremendous numbers in the 2005-06 season playing only 66 games, scoring 17 goals with 43 assists. That's just what we need. I also think he could thrive under Ted Nolan; might be a perfect fit.

Note** This rumor is becoming more unlikely. I will keep you posted. The reason why it's becoming more unlikely is it seems Jason wants more than a 1 year/incentive laden deal. Talks have stopped for now.

Thanks,

Jason can barely skate up the ice to stand in front of the net where he stays for most of his shift. Ted Nolan wants a guy who isn't able to -- backcheck? Don't bet on it. Jason, listen to Phil Esposito talking to Frank D'Angelo "It's over, you're too old, you're washed up, it ain't gonna happen." He was a possessed man in front of the net back in the day, but, the day is lonnng gone.

This can't be good....There's NOONE else out there that we can go for instead of this guy? We have enough old guys on the team. I understand that Snow wants to bring in some veteran leadership, but if that's the case throw a bag of money at Selanne. So much that it forces him to come back and play one more year. :)I know it's a dream and it would never happen, but wouldn't it be nice. It sure would put some butts in those seats.Jason Allison is (was) really good in front of the net and has alot of the same traits as Smyth. He's no where near as good as Smyth is but he's a similar player and I think that's what is selling Snow. They need to pass on this guy.....

Too slow, no intensity......a complete liability except on the PP. If you want to tie up a million on a PP guy, then fine, but it takes him a year to get from end to end.

You cannot get away from the fact that Allison is a point per game player..He has to be used in the right situations and the Islanders are in deep doo doo this season.I think for the right price he could be an asset for them.
