Okay, I will rephrase since people are jumping down my throat. I just feel that the Islanders are always at the bottom of everything in the media. Meanwhile, they prove them wrong every time. You think after every time the media gets proven wrong they would change their predictions? But they don't. The New York Islanders have become the least liked team in the NHL. I don't get it. It was wrong on my part saying something about our chemistry; it just came out wrong. You’re all right. Sorry bout that. I am just confident that the team will find some chemistry and prove the critics wrong.. AGAIN.

The reason the Islanders have no publicity is that other team in New York. The Ranger's are so much better than the Islander's. Ill go even further and say the Sabre's are also 100% better. How can you expect a team that does pretty much nothing every year get publicity when there are two other teams in that state that do all the right things and have righted their teams to make the playoffs and strive to win the cup!

Maybe I"m misinterpreting, but I don't think its about publicity. Its about how every year people who are supposed to be knowledgeable about the sport pick the islanders to finish the year at or near dead last, even though they have made the playoffs 4 out of the last 5 years. In my opinion, people assume that because the islanders sucked in the past, they suck now. Case in point, "pretty much does nothing every year". That was under Mad Mike. They went out to get Smyth (regardless of it not turning out, it was doing something more than trading away every decent p layer we ever got our hands on for draft picks). Over this off-season they eliminated Captain No-Show, and rebuilt their offense. Whether or not it works, they are doing something now, and it seems regardless of what comes out on the ice, the media gives them the short stick.

The one thing the Isles have going for them is great goaltending, but how far will that take them? The are in a very tough division this year and I don't see them being able to shut down the Pens and Rangers goal scoring.
