Two Fans Chatting...

Posted 12:27 PM ET | Comments 5
This is an actual conversation that happened over instant message between two Pred fans who work together.

(11:04:36 AM) Joe: I hated that the game was not on last night
(11:04:52 AM) Joe: but it might have been for the best...sounded very frustrating
(11:05:51 AM) Jason: yea I don't know. I listen for a bit during the 1st period and then checked it again about the time they went into the shootout
(11:06:18 AM) Joe : I wonder if NHL.com would let you see the game on your PC if you paid for that service?
(11:06:31 AM) Jason : I don't know.
(11:06:53 AM) Jason : We are very inconsistent this year
(11:07:07 AM) Jason: to the point as a fan it will be a frustrating year if something don't change
(11:07:10 AM) Jason : win or loose
(11:07:22 AM) Jason : can't keep giving up 3 goal leads
(11:08:17 AM) Joe: no kidding...we will kill ourselves. They do that and then they come back from two down on another night...then get outshot like crazy last night and steal a point. Who are these guys? Will the real Predators please stand up!
(11:09:43 AM) Jason: I just hate it when pros don't show up for a full 60 minutes. It's one thing to loose games or have off nights but they have yet to put together a full 60 minutes as a team. The D is what is the most inconsistent.
(11:10:51 AM) Joe: the youth could be partly to blame there. We are asking alot...even of guys like Weber and Suter to step in and play like 10 year vets. Maybe the youth movement on the blueline was not a good move
(11:11:43 AM) Jason: But cmon..these guys have been playing for what, 3-4 years now? No excuses! They are not rookies at this point
(11:13:18 AM) Joe: I know...but maybe they will never be as good as we think. Maybe the four point nights from Shea are a once every 100 game kind of thing and not a once a month deal. I agree with you but maybe the Preds moved too quickly to the youth. Maybe Ville and Kevin aren't ready for 82 games in the NHL.
(11:14:45 AM) Jason: The whole Klein deal really gets me fired up. Kevin should be playing. Period. He sat most of last year, which didn't help him at all, and then this year they are doing the same thing to him. They should play him or trade him.
(11:15:13 AM) Joe: I agree
(11:15:28 AM) Jason: Suter has looked horrible this year. DeVries, well he's Devries. Shea has been a beast for the most part.
(11:15:45 AM) Joe: I think all Pred fans would agree that they have seen flashes of brilliance from Kevin
(11:15:52 AM) Jason: I think they should break Suter and Weber up
(11:16:23 AM) Joe: I think Greg D gets a bad rap...he plays the game he was brought here to play. He is just a steady player. not flashy
(11:17:29 AM) Joe: I think that Trotz and the front office want to see that pairing...they are wishing greatness on them! 'If we put these two together...just think!' They want the entire NHL talking about their 'dynamic duo!'
(11:17:58 AM) Jason: Well it hasn't worked so far this year IMO
(11:19:46 AM) Joe: no doubt...I think you are right something has to be done to shake things up. This is the perfect year to do it. The expectations are low (optimism might be high) but if the Preds make some moves that so a commitment to winning the fans will be forgiving.
(11:20:19 AM) Jason: I agree.....I look for something around the trade deadline
(11:20:24 AM) Jason: if not sooner

Suter is not as good as people have been making him out to be. He was benched for a time last year because of it. I couldn't agree more about Klein. He's being wasted on our bench. Finally, I wouldn't look for the Preds to do anything in a trade. Poile seems completely content with this group, and outside of Forsberg, this franchise has never made an impact trade that gets a positive buzz flowing.

Predaceous, you're right, the Preds have never then team to go out and get someone huge, other than Foppa, and I don't think it will happen in another long while. The biggest name on the block right now would have to be Marian Gaborik. I think Poile might look at Gaborik, but I don't think he will go for him. I think the Preds, Poile, will go for some offense but it sure as hell won't be Gaborik.

Gaborik's a china doll anyway. We already have enough of them.

I would love to have Gaborik, especially because the guy TORCHES us anytime we play him.
