First of all, I would like to shortly introduce myself. My name is Jeff Potulny, I go by the alias of "Ovech8" on the internet, and this is my first ever blog on Hockeybuzz.com. I am a very frequent poster on the Message Board "chat.mapleleafs.com" which is owned by Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment, and I am a semi-poster of "HFBoards.com".

After Thursday to Saturday, I was very happy with what the Maple Leafs accomplished and how players progressed. They got the 4-2 win over a team that has been hot recently since the firing of Bob Hartley, and just Saturday night ending up beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2.

It was a week of many broken slumps for the Maple Leafs, with Steen and Stajan scoring for the first time in 10 games for both vs Atlanta, Blake scoring for the first time in 18 games against Pittsburgh, which was set up beautifully on a 2-on-0 pass from Kyle Wellwood. Mark Bell also scored his first goal as a Leaf Saturday night as well.

One thing that was really mind boggling in the game against Pittsburgh was the fact that Mark Bell, who had a very strong game, was mysteriously moved down to the 4th line with Kilger and Belak, while Ponikarovsky was placed on the 1st line, taking Bell's place. A move that nearly cost the Maple Leafs the game because 2 Ponikarovsky giveaways ending up resulted in 2 Penguins goals making the game a heartpounding finish as Ponikarovsky ended up putting away the game with an empty net goal.

Overall 2 good performances by the Blue and White and I hope this can result in some confidence being built up and adding more wins.
