Ouch, that loss stings!

Well I thought being shutout at home by Anaheim stung. Losing 3-2 to Phoenix in a shootout stings alot worse. The Sharks played a great game, but lost on a few lucky shots and because their power play failed to put Phoenix away. When Doan scored, all I could say was, this better not happen. The Sharks deserved to win that game. They played their best hockey of the year. They were flying on the ice, throwing their bodies with bone crushing force, and did not back down from Phoenix. Their 3rd period was their best all season. The Sharks can take alot of positives from the game, but man it still hurts to lose that way.

Clearly their power play needs serious work. They had 5 minutes, and then got a 5-3 and only could score once during that opportunity. Then the Sharks had 2 power play opportunites in OT. Again, I will keep saying it until it happens; there needs to be less passing and holding the puck, and more shooting on the power play. It honestly cost them the game. The Sharks had too many chances to put Phoenix away and they could not get it done.

I am still stunned that the Sharks lost that game the way they did. Well Sharksbuzz is tomorrow and I am looking forward to everyone's thoughts and comments about tonight.

Tough loss. With the penalties Phx took early in the game and San Jose clearly outplaying them, I couldn't believe they stayed in that game as well as they did. I think the rest of the Pacific division is going to have to get used to the fact that Phoenix isn't a pushover any more. A 5-1 six game road trip is pretty impressive.

I agree RC. It's amazing how much better a team plays when they have confidence in their goal tender. Way to go BRYZ! And to think, the Dogs got him for nothing! Hey Tampa GM, (whoever the hell he is) still think Ilya isn't worth a low round pick next year!

One of the best games I've watched this season. How did Roenick avoid a penalty after the third period brawl. How did the Sharks get a 5 minute power play. Phoenix was cheated, but they killed the penalty and won a great game.
