With the coming of Eminger, I do not expect the Flyers to land a Campbell, Liles or Roszival type UFA. As much as I'd like to think we could get an RFA like Boumeester, I dont see us signing anyone over 3mill.

--UFA--

UFA Joe DiPenta - age 26, 6'4", 220lbs. Shoots Right.
6 points and +3 in 23 games, with 16 PIMs and 5 shots on goal, but he averaged ONLY 11 mins per game. Could be a bargain pickup at 1~1.5mill.

UFA Kurt Sauer - age 29, 6'2", 200lbs. Shoots Left.
6points and +17 in 54 games, with 41 PIMs and 28 shots on goal, and averaged 19 mins per game. A solid defenceman at around 1~1.5mill.

UFA Ron Hainsey - age 27, 6'3", 210lbs. Shoots Left.
32 points and -7 over 78 games. 8 PPG and 25 PIMs with 161 shots on goal, and averaged 23 mins per game. Could play the PP with Timo. Would be a nice pickup for under~3mill but I'd pass him up at anything higher than 3m which Im sure he is seeking.

--RFA--

RFA Mike Green - age 22 6'1, 210lbs. Shoots Right.
56 points! in 82 games. 8 PPG's and 62 PIMs with a whopping 234 shots on goal, and averaged 24 mins per game. Green and TImo on the PP would be nice! Looked great against us in the playoffs. He will sign a hefty contract, but would be a bargain at the 3mill mark. He is prob looking for upwards of 4~5mill.

RFA Andrej Meszaros - age 21, 6' 2", 220lbs. Shoots Left.
36p and +5 in 82 games. 6PPG. 50PIM and 160shots on goal, and averaged 21 mins per game. Another 1st rounder with big upside. He is a young big skilled Dman with BIG upside! He will sing a hefty contract, but would be a bargain at the 2mill mark.

RFA Christian Ehrhoff - age 25, 6'2", 200lbs. Shoots Left.
22 points and +9 in 77 games. 72 PIMS and 97 shots on goal, and averaged 22 mins per game. Would make a fine addition depending on the contract. Expect around~1.5mill.

RFA Dennis Wideman - age 25, 6', 210lbs. Shoots Right.
36 points and +11 in 81 games. 9 PP goals. 70 PIMS and 171 shots on goal, and averaged 25 mins per game. Wideman would be nice on the PP with Timo. Would make a fine addition depending on the contract. Expect 2~3mill mark. negatives: he looks a little like chris bundy therien

RFA Ville Koistinen - age 25, 5'11", 190lbs. Shoots Left.
17p and +13 in 48 games. Only 18 PIMs and 60 shots on goal, but averaged only 17 mins per game. He can play the PP and score but is undersized. If he continues to develop, he will be a bargain at about~1mill.

I would love Joe DiPenta, very dependable and over shadowed in anaheim

Thanks for the run down- Im surprised you posted so few UFA though as they would be easier to sign (no potential for a match). What do you think of Warrener? Wideman, Meszaros, or Green would be amazing but Im not sure we could afford them ether. Im very excited to say the least to see what Homer does here.

Warrener is solid, but overpriced IMO, which is why he was waived, and at age 32 is is obviously on the downslope of his career. I tried to stick with guys under 30 on my list who are on the up or in their prime. I would gladly take him for under 1 mill.

Meszaros is the top of my list. I'm hoping for Liles/Hainsley comes UFA though.

I don't think we'll have room unless Hatch retires...and even if so, I would rather see the team avoid locking into another guy tying up capspace for 3 yrs. There's a number of solid prospects that need spots to move into over the next few yrs (Parent, Ratchuk, Marshall, Lehtivouri, Bodrov, Niskala Bartulis, Sbisa, Bourdon etc.) ...that said if the right guy becomes available at the right price, then I trust Holmgren to make the prudent call.

I honestly don't think the Flyers will sign a d-man. The guys exlund mentioned are all close enough to being NHL ready that signing another D, unless it's only to a one year contract, makes no sense. It wouldn't surprise me if the Flyers go on vacation during the free agent feeding frenzy and save their cap room for potential trade deadline acquisitions

parent is the only one nhl ready the others aren't really "close"

true RNeel but fast forward to next season or the one after and another couple of guys (plus I forgot Guenin who Homer says is NHL ready) may be ready to make the jump...if we lock up another d man on a multi year, we better be sure he's worth the money and roster spot

Parent is obviously slated for a top-6 role with the Flyers next year. So assuming that Hatcher doesn't retire, the top-6 are currently: Timonen, Coburn, Hatcher, Eminger, Jones, Parent - with the 7th. Syvret is a pure project and Marshall and Ratchuk aren't ready. Modry and Smith are gone, so I agree that Guenin is the most likely to get a shot at the 7th spot. (But my guess is that he is a late cut.) So either Kukkonen finds his way back onto the roster - or the Flyers do make a modest move for a UFA. I'm guessing the latter.

We don't really need a powerplay defenseman. We've got Both Timo and Coburn. Richards quarterbacks from up there as well. Eminger or Jones can fit in fine for that 4th point man for both PP units. What we do need is a shut down defenseman with speed and good puck movement who can eat a ton of mins a game.

Also Mike Green is going to be something special. He just needs to learn how to play defense. Once he does look out Norris.
