"Nashville Predators"
The Preds finally scored 2 goals again, but it wasn't enough as Ovechkin had two goals, including the shootout winner.

Compared to previous games, this was a much better effort against a great team. In the first period, the Preds missed two breakways by Ward and Weber on the PK. They got good scoring chances and did a good job of only allowing 2 goals to this offensively gifted team. Was it coincidence this team did a better job of defending with Hamhuis out?

Game Notables:

Dan Ellis (B+) - Tough not to give an A minus. Really good game and gave the Preds a point. Stopped 33 of 35 shots. The only goals given up where a semi break away by Ovie and a PP goal to Ovie on a one-timer.

Weber (A) - Ended the night with a plus 1, a huge goal and did a good job on defense. The Preds really needed their all star player to lead the way. They got that tonight.

Hornqvist (A-) - The only Preds player to end with a plus 2. Setup the first goal by driving hard to the net and a perfect drop pass to Weber. Tied for a team high with 3 shots on goal.

Preds Powerplay (F) - Continues to be futile. 0 for 4 tonight. Only 1 PP goal all season. This kind of powerplay is simply giving away points in the standings. They have to turn this around. Nobody can be this bad, right?

Well good to see a point from the Preds. Next up Boston on Wednesday as they continue this 5 game road trip.
