Sharks Draft 2008

Posted 3:51 PM ET | Comments 1
So the draft is officially over and we know the names of the players we acquired:

Justin Daniels (3rd round)
Samuel Groulx (4th round)
Harri Sateri (4th round)
Julien Demers (5th round)
Tommy Wingels (6th round)
Jason Demers (7th round)
Drew Daniels (7th round)

Interesting notes on a couple of the guys we picked up: Apparently we acquired a set of twins in the Daniels, and I think the Demers are related too, but I don't know how.

Oh yeah....Marleau didn't get traded, so I think he may be sticking around for a couple of years

Don't know what this means regarding the Campbell situation. Doug Wilson is going to have his work cut out for him trying to sign Campbell and stay under the self-imposed cap without making a big trade before July 1st. He said in an interview with Dan Rusanowsky that we should have an answer by next week though.

Demers are not related. Interesting is why did the Sharks jump up to 62 to get the 100th rated N. American skater in Justin, and then wait till the seventh round to take his twin, the 109th rated N. American skater. Seems to me that if he was the target all along, we could have waited till our fourth round slot. Unless someone else had him (Justin) in their sites.
