Here comes da' Ray Emery bandwagon, DE • United States • 15 Years Old • Male
Once again, the opposing goalie just shuts us down, and in this case, Vesa Toskala was on his game tonight. Unfortunately, the Flyers could not do much against Toskala as they lost 4-2 tonight. The Flyers just didn't seem to have the jump tonight. In some sorts, that is understandable. Six games in nine days will do that to do you. But at the end of the night, you have to find a way somehow to win and the Flyers just didn't do that. Not only that, but the Flyers did not sustain a good work ethic. There were times in this game where the Flyers looked decent, and then there were other times where they just looked out of sync. Richie did score twice for the Flyers, including a shorty, but that was it. I will say this, Scottie Upshall is the one guy that plays his behind off game after game, and I feel bad for him, because not everyone is sustaining that hard work ethic. I understand that they were a little bit tired, but you are an NHL player, and you have to somehow find a way. I know the Flyers tried to do as much as they could, but they were just tired. There were a few goals tonight that the Flyers gave up that should happen. One of them was when Dominic Moore came out of the box for the Leafs, and he scored a goal. You have to make sure that someone is there on him when he comes out of the box. Another goal that should have not been given up was when Marty tried to play the puck, and he gave it away and allowed big Nik Antropov to score. Marty, you have to be careful when you go to play the puck and where everyone is at. I thought the Flyers did good things in this game, the effort was there, even though they were tired, and you could tell that they tried to do everything possible, but it didn't go the Flyers way tonight. But then again, you have to give credit to Vesa Toskala. Yesterday, it was Cam Ward, tonight it's Vesa Toskala. There are just times where the opposing goalie has your number, and is in the right place. The Flyers got the opportunties, but they couldn't cash in. Now with the 6 games in 9 days over with, they need to rest up for Tuesday night's game against the Bolts. Danny Briere should be back, so as Riley Cote. To sum up tonight's game, the effort was there, but they were tired and Vesa Toskala made big saves against the Flyers.

Three stars:
1. #35 Vesa Toskala- TOR
2. #19 Dominic Moore- TOR
3. #18 Richie- PHI

Next game: Tuesday night vs. Lightning: 7pm Versus

Toskala played well and the entire Flyers team was not good.

I can understand the talk of we have been beaten by two good goalies but cam ward played just as good on friday as he did on wednesday. He stopped a few 2-1's. marty needs to start making that key save at the key time as he was earlier.

They had a chance with 2 mins left when they were in the leafs zone for like 45 seconds where stevens should have pulled the goalie and didn't. instead he waited until the pressure broke to get the extra man. Also biron's gaff with the puck seemed to leave the team flat again. Yeah it could be that they are tired but come on that was weak outside the first period.
