A call for respect

Posted 4:33 PM ET | Comments 10
Ok I wanted to get this blog out before regular season starts , as every season we go through the same motions.

From when the season starts leading up to deadline day .Their is an increase in rumors and blogs from Eklund all the way down to minor bloggers like myself. Now I have been reading hockeybuzz for a few years , and only recently started bloggng in the last few months . But what I have noticed in my time here is that their are a lot of immature people on this site.

Now I will admit I have read some rather ridiculous rumors and blogs by some people. To only see some even more ridiculous comments left upon the forums. Fine if you don't agree with a blog and you want to point something out. You have every right to say so .But don't say it in a fashion where not only are you insulting the writer , but making yourself look like a j@ck@$$.Despite what ever is written people are putting time into it fr everyone to read , and you have to at least respect that much .If by the time you are able to read and write , and sign onto a computer, and you don't know how to write appropiate responses to anothers comments. Then don't say anything.

This goes doube for Ek's posts. People are continously slandering his rumor writings and updates. Now I am not saying whether they are true or not , as I have no way of telling , nor do in a guess the other 97% of the people on this site. I come onto this site to read "RUMORS" which is what everything is until it happens. Ek tells us what he has heard , and we discuss. It is not difficult to say something simple like" This rumor does not seem feasible" or " I don't see it happening" . No one is forcing you onto this sight , no one is making you read . So don't come on talking trash from a computer about how bullpoop soething is and how you think the person who wrote it , is a fraud. Save it and just talk hockey like the rest of us .

Respect the other bloggers , and they will do the same to you . That way everyone feels comfortable writing and we call can talk hockey with out some @$$ wipe throwing in a needless amount of hostility .

Just my two cents on the matter .

Too right! Some of the comments I read are ridiculous. Since when did a 'game' (a game which I think many of us are passionate about) become something about which the rules of polite society go out the window. I can understand heated debate, but I see personal attacks based on opinions or simply the team someone supports. I could possibly see those types of attacks coming from a simple-minded 12 or 13 year old, but many of those comments I see are from supposed adults. If you have the time and inclination to make personal attacks on others based on opinons about a sport, then I suggest that the attacker has many more serious problems than how their team is doing in the standings.Cheers,

Hmmm it seems I have a fan. Thank you Pens871 for giving anyone who reads this blog a great example of what I was talking about. Minor Blogger? yes I believe that would be the term that is proper . As to say "Major" brings to minds words such as major league, professional and such . Which I am not. While "Minor" brings to mind. , things like Minor league, ametuar and casual . Which is where I would put myself. As I am a casual blogger. I'm sorry if my posts offend you , but like I said no one is forcing you to read them.

Good points but you will always have people like Pens871 who simply just don't get it. Like someone else said, a great debate is fun but it also has to come across as a debate. Plus, everyone needs to be open minded. Either way good points.

I am in now defending Pens871 but I think a lot of stuff that is said here out of jest is misinterpreted. I could very well see Pen's comment as sarcasm in way to kind of reaffirm what hockeyfan89 is saying. But since he wrote it and not me, I can not say that with certainty. So I guess my point is, well, now that I think of it I don't know what it is. So I guess I'll just throw that out there...

If i have leard anything from blogin on here. You just got to laugh when people like Pens871 write what they write. I usually just over look those comments and read the comments/opinions that people have taken the time to write. Good blog though, but i dont see it changing much, though it would be nice if it did.

Defending people or not, we have encounted a text, an e-mail and a comment (blog) and didn't know what the true intent was. So, why put something out there when after first glance you know it's going to come off the wrong way? I agree we should glance over it but it really has not place in a good conversation or a good debate.
