WHY THE WILD ARE CUP CONTENDERS

This blog will consist of who I feel are the best the four players on the team. Yes, I feel the Wild could be Stanley Cup Contenders. The thing I like about the Wild the most is the supporting cast of the players. They make these players who they are.

PAVOL DEMITRA

Pavol has more skill to burn than most players have to start with. He is a slick passer. He has a surprising hard wrist shot, and it's accurate. He knows when to shoot and when to pass. He is a slick forward. Pavol has really adjusted to the Wild system. He has turned himself into a more well-defined player. He has developed himself into an all-around good player.

MARIAN GABORIK

If Marian can stay healthy, he is one of the fastest skaters in the NHL. He can shoot with the best of them; but more importantly he has a forward in Pavol. Marian is one of the most skilled forwards in the NHL. He has quick hands and is very fast on his skates. The thing that makes him very dangerous is that he is very smart; you never really know what he is up to. He is a purely magical forward.

BRIAN ROLSTON

Rolston is the best leader on the team. He is the captain on the team. He has a very hard and heavy slap-shot. He gives the team the second line scoring the team desperately needs. He seems to be Mr. Clutch. When the team needs a goal, they look for Brian to score the winning goal.

NIKLAS BASTROM

Niklas is one of the best young goalies in the league. Has very good reflexes and a very good glove hand. He is so consistent, being there keeping the Wild ahead, or just keeping them in the game. This kid will be around a very long time. Simply put, he's just good.

There you have it. With these 4 players and their amazing support cast, the Wild are one of the best young teams in the NHL. They have an amazing support cast, and two very young goalies. They will be there all season, and will challenge for the division with the Avs. The Wild are the first team of my thirty team tour.

Considering the five goals and ten assists tonight from everyone but the three mentioned above (leaving out Backstrom, of course) and you see how deep and good the Wild can be. Flamestr, are you switching allegiances again?

You won't get cup contenders until you get decent looking uniforms... those are just terrible.. but on a serious note, I can definitely see the Wild top in the West.

"He is a purely magical forward"? We're talking hockey here, right?

Nice one Flamestr! I knew I'd convert you eventually. The scary thing about the Wild is that you barely scratched the surface with all the players that have been contributing. You could add Parrish, Burns, Koivu, and PM Bouchard to the list as well, and that doesn't really cover one of the best D squads in the league either. I really feel like this years team has the depth to go far.
