Dougstr Speaks a eight year old perspective

I was asking in the Chat room an Idea for a blog when my favorite blogster scoop (sorry Ek) gave me idea of a hockey conversation from my son so here is the first one of maybe many depending on how many he would like to do.
Today blog is on what is wrong with Hockey

Slashing penalties in the face Players are not careful with the stick , to many penalties with players not knowing what there sticks can do. They think they can get away with it, they don't have respect for each other they are willing to do anything to win.

Fighting
When they fight sometimes they get injured, for example Ignla getting injured with Allen in Florida. I think there is to much violence in hockey, Because kids like myself copy what the real NHL players do thinking its alright.

What can be done to stop the violence of hockey

if the player get hurt for the rest of the year then the player who causes the injury should not be allowed to play for the rest of the year.

I like the idea of having the puishment match the injury. The NHL certainly has issues when a stick on a glove is a penalty but ramming a guys head with your shoulder is not.

Dougstr,Being a youth coach, it is always good to hear a younger perspective on the game.Two questions for you:1) What is your favorite thing about hockey?2) What do you think is the best way to get more kids interested in playing?Look forward to hearing from you.
Nice blog Dougstr! You have a growing fanbase now. I'm all for punishing the high sticks and the injuries, I like your idea. Keep those ideas rolling, and we'll have you replacing Bettman in no time!
