Let me Clarify this I will respond to slander against my Source but if you legit questions I will answer them to my best ability.

Last time I did one of these blogs, I really paid for it. It made me wish I had never done it. Like most of the world (if you have not heard it, where have you been living? Under a ant hill?) I have heard silly Iggy rumours which are pretty much crap. (I should really use a stronger word, but I can't.) I do not give much credit to the Iggy rumours. The Iggy rumors are going wild, all because of him answering a stupid question on whether he would waive his no-trade clause if asked to.

I say it was a silly question, because the Flames would not be stupid enough to ask him to waive it. So because he answered a question truthfully, all sort of rumours have come out of the woodwork. I really never gave it any credibility, but being a blogger I had it investigate it simply because its out there. So like an idiot, I contacted some sources, and I really wish I hadn't; not because there is anything to the Iggy rumours, but because he did give me the dirt on the situation.

Now let me tell you a secret: I really do not like doing this, because I know every one of these players and they have been nothing but gracious and very professional and polite to me. Let me say again before I get into this blog that Iggy has never, to my knowledge, ever been asked to waive, nor do I think he he will be. So with that being said, there are problems in Calgary that have to addressed, or they won't do any better next season.

Now onto the info the my source gave me (because I know you're really waiting with bated breath -- not really, old cranky sarcastic blogger). Let's go back the Dion deal. Why? Because it is really where Iggy got a little muffed. Iginla seemed to be upset when the trade happened. He felt that Daryl Sutter did not do enough for Dion. Dion had enough with Coach Sutter, and asked Daryl to choose between Coach Sutter and Dion. Daryl chose his brother. Iggy apparently had philosophical differences with Coach Sutter (in other words, he did not like the direction that Brent Sutter was taking the team.)

So with this info, you can throw out all the nonsense that Dion and Iggy had a fight in the dressing room. You can throw out the “Dion was not liked in the dressing room” jazz. But there is one serious question this info leads to: Does this mean Iggy has problems with Regher? I think it means Iggy never picked sides, which completely goes with his character as a true captain. Now the main problem that Iginla had with the Dion trade was that he was not sure about of the direction that the team was taking when Jbo was traded to the Flames. Dion was assured that he was part of the Flames' long-term plan. Something went awry with Dion and the Flames, because he ends up getting traded.

Trying to sort out what should be made public and what should not takes quite the talent. Unfortunately, I do not have the talent, so forgive me for spilling the beans. I know what you're thinking: Who am I to know anything? It's a good point. I am really just a nobody who asks too many questions.

This is the main problem: Iggy and Daryl need to get on the same page. Anyone who think that Iggy will stay over the Sutters, you're wrong. My source pretty much confirms that if Iggy wants out, he will be traded. Saying that, Iggy has never asked to be traded, nor will the he. The only way this trade goes down is if the Flames ask him to waive.

Now according to my source, Iggy has been told “if you want to traded, we will trade you”. Iggy has been told he has to either get along with the coach or get out. My source also says that Iginla is concerned with the direction the team is taking and that they may not have long term plans for him.

My source also says there are other players on the Flames roster who feel the same way, but he would not mention them until he gets more info.

Until next time, take care.

Where have you been??! Good to see you back. Listen, Iggy and all of the flames fans are concerned over the direction of the team! Kotalik? He wants to win right?! I hope the dion thing isn't like savard and gilbert where they moved savy and then fired gilbert...

P.S. Iggy won't ask and the "rumors" are nothing more than wondering what if. I think it's healthy to think that way but he is still a 30 goal scorer and won't go anywhere. Regehr is maybe becoming a polorizing guy in the room and is replaceable so...

The team's list of marketable player assets is growing shorter and shorter. Probably time to move Iggy and Kipper and start a proper rebuild.

nope makes me very frustrated with deals makes you wonder sometimes what goes on through general managers heads.

Flames were fine before JBo, there was no need to trade for him. They could of started a rebuild with a young D corps already in the Fold with Phaneuf and Regehr. This team is going nowhere and the quicker they rebuild the quicker they will get back on track !!

funny having leaf fans chime in about "rebuilds", when they traded up Hall/Seguin, and next year's first rounder, for kessel....4 year's of no playoffs, increased ticket prices every one of those years, and ron wilson as coach... yay team :)

StanleyCupDreams Regehr is not "young". Did you watch him at all this season? Or for that matter did you watch the defense at all last season? It was in shambles, something had to be done. JBo was a disappointment no doubt but the real mistake was the Jokinen trade which ensured Cammalleri would leave.

I'll tell you why Dion was traded.Giordano > PhaneufPhaneuf's Contract >>> Giordano's ContractIt's simple math really. What we got for Dion is what's dissapointing.

Exactly. I have never had any objection to Dion being traded in itself; it would have been the right move even if there weren't the locker room issues. It's just that it seems like Darryl didn't shop him well enough.

I never once missed Phaneuf, even if he is now the Laffs captain. He was overrated, awful defensively, and wouldn't step up to a fight (ie Isles preseason game when Okposo got knocked tf out). I don't think that trade was a biggie. Olli f'd us.
