Count down to Camp

Posted 8:41 AM ET | Comments 12
I don't know about all of you but I personally am itching for NHL hockey action.
Flyers rookies open camp 9/8, a week from today. That doesn't sound long but right now it feels like an eternity.
I am so anxious to see what this retooled team will look like on the ice. On Paper it looks awesome, but how long will it take it all to gel and run smoothly like a well oiled machine. There are so many new faces and new ideas and most importantly fresh leadership.
I know that the Flyers leadership deserves kudos for trying to hold the team together last year but it needed some new blood and maybe some added strength. The big question is do too many leaders hurt or make the team?

I guess we have to wait and see.....

Hey Nicole, How are ya? We haven't talked in a long time. I am definitely going nuts waiting for camp to start. I can't wait to get down there and see what the team looks like. With my work schedule, i don't know how often I will be able to get down there, but I hope at least a few times. I think the team will be very good though. I am predicting that it will only take a few weeks into the regular season for them to gel and then it will start flowing from there. I can't help but think that all the new leadership can't help but add to this team. We obviously had a severe lack of it last year, so I'm hoping it makes a huge difference and we have the opposite season as last year. Hope to get a chance to see you down at camp. Take care!

They better gel quick or stevens may see himself out the door. All this talk of rookie camps and the junior canada/russia teams playing makes me wonder if we made the right choice with JvR. I know he's a beast but Turris just showed what hes got. Ganger too. Anyone know how Girioux played, I read he had an assist on the winning goal in one of the early games. Also, is there a list of who will be at the flyers rookie camp? and maybe a sched or events for it?

Daniel Briere is overpaid..... wayyyyyyyyyyyyy overpaid. becomes useless in the playoffs.

I TOTALLY agree with sabresx88. Brier is overpayed and, come playoff time, rather useless.

Can you say Sour Grapes? Funny how you say he's useless in the playoffs yet he led your team in scoring in the playoffs the last two years. Interesting!

Overpaid or not, he WAS one of your best players. Guess he will just have to show us how good he is for the next 7 or 8 years. Silly Rabbit, Trix is for kids...you lose

well the top line will be dangerous, I think they are rejuvenated and we'll see what happens when they come into Calgary for the first game of the season!

You took the words right out of my mouth, I can't wait for the season to start!I see the Flyers as a 98-102 point team which will make them 5th or 6th seed in the playoffs, and once the playoffs start anything can happen!!
