First Thank you To Jessica for going with me tonight. It was fun catching up.

Second HI to all the Peep, Kristin, Theresa, HF, TFF, Brooke and Karen (thanks for the Phantoms game Updates live from Hershey).

Right now I probably should not be typing this blog I made a personal rule for myself that after losses I would sleep on my blog entry. With attending the Flyers Wives carnival tomorrow I have to write this tonight. I am utterly devastated by tonight's loss not only of the game but of Mike Richards for 3 weeks with a torn hamstring. 3.7 seconds is all that stood between the Flyers and a win.

My story for tonight and as Jess pointed out that I slightly foretold the future. All the players got set up during warm ups to shoot and I look no Mike Richards. I quickly send a blast txt he was not at warm ups. He comes out a few minutes later. I send another "Crisis Averted Richards is on the ice". Still didn't make me feel better. I have since learned he had an equipment issue and went back in to the locker room to have it corrected.

Flyers were really buzzing in the first period. They easily had doubled up on shots the Panthers. I agree with the person and I apologize I can't remember who posted but that Goaltender Interference has been retitled that "Scott Hartnell was near the opposing goaltender".

The no score at the end of the first made me feel really good. The Flyers had battled hard. Briere got booed pretty badly all over the place anytime he touched the puck.

Intermission met up with HF and TFF at the 11th Street beer stand.

2nd period seemed so dull. Just as I have that thought WHAM! Danny Briere scores and silences all those boo birds.

2nd intermission same as the first.

3rd period I get some score updates. Phantoms had gone from being down 3-0 at the end of the first to up 5-3 in the third. Go Phantoms!
The period was pretty even. Flyers had some great chances. Carter absolutely dazzled me with his moves on the rush.
Then horror of horrors I watch Richie go down really badly and get up slow and barely hobble to the bench. McCrossin kept him at the end and they talked while Richie tested his injured leg. McCrossin eventually sending Richards to the locker room.

The little kids in the one corner section start counting down to the end of the game and @ 3.7 seconds the Panthers score.

The whole crowd is in shock and disbelief. OT I lean over to Jess and say no shoot out. Flyers are brutal in the shoot out. Gotta win this now. OT looks alot like the 3rd period. Then penalty. Panthers capitalize on the PP game over.

The Flyers PK had been very strong all game. The loss of Richards though hurt the PK quite a bit. the mood of the fans walking out was truly all over the place some people were booing. Some were yelling 3.7 seconds. Several were extremely angry.

The carnival is going to be very gloomy tomorrow. I will report tomorrow night on the Carnival.

I don't know how many people noticed, but clearly Richards wasn't feeling well from the start. During commercial breaks in the first period, he was stretching on the ice... groin and hips... maybe he has been playing with a lower-body injury we didn't know about and injured the hamstring trying to compensate (a la Mikael Renberg every other month). I enjoy the blogs, and keep up the good work.
