The Sabres put forth a much better effort in Game 3, resulting in a 3-2 win and the lead in the series. Finally, the Sabres forwards scored all 3 goals, including goals from Briere and Vanek. Zubrus currently leads the team in points, with 4 (all assists). He was great again tonight, providing good offense and defense along with a strong physical game. Both of the goalies were solid. Buffalo probably could have had an easier time had they not allowed a very late 2nd period goal that allowed the Isles to pull within one. However, the Sabres kept up the pressure in the 3rd and came out with the win.

I was less than impressed with Islander fans who were throwing bottles and other garbage across the ice.
An NHL source said linesman Brad Lazarowich was struck under the eye by a coin that was thrown from the stands.
Treatment of the officials in that manner is poor sportsmanship by the fans. Certainly this isn't the only time this has been an issue, but when they are throwing coins at the faces of linesmen and refs, that's a serious lack of good judgment

they are to blame for that event.. the ending of the game was the last straw.. if they called the game fair and even and not just pick n choose what was and was not a penalty, the garbage shower does not happen.. you eitehr call it all, or nothing at all..
