After readings the comments to my last post, it’s now clear to me that the impression I intended to make was not translated to those who read it. It was never my intention to “bash” the New York Islanders. I was actually “bashing” the Detroit Red Wings. I did not wish to insinuate that, had they played with the intensity they normally do, the Red Wings would have won. I was attempting to say that it appears to me that Detroit does not hold the Islanders in as high regard as they do other clubs, which is shameful. It is this pathetic display that prompted me to pen that post in the form of an apology letter. The tone of that letter was to be taken as somewhat snarky and sarcastic, including the pithy excuses I made up to explain their lack of commitment in Tuesday night’s game. However, once I read it again, I can definitely see how the wording, without the emotion, can be construed as lamenting on a loss which should have been a win. For that, I apologize. I did not, in any way, wish to offend anyone on this site, particularly the fans of the New York Islanders.

Thank you,

NICELY DONE ELECTRIC.....The substance of the apology was valid, but we as Islander fan are constantly be spoke down to, and are sick of it so it is easy to get us going!!.....I can also see how game like that could very much frustrate you as a RW fan....We do appreciate the acknowledgement though...apology accepted! nice job!

Thank you all! Being from Detroit, I'm well aware of sports press piling on a team (Lions football), so I know it can get frustrating.
