Momentum Shift

Posted 3:08 PM ET | Comments 5
The Sabres made it look easy Friday against as they defeated the Bruins 4-1 at HSBC Arena. The crowd was electrifying the entire time and chants of “tuuuuuuuuka” emerged quickly after Rask allowed a goal on the first shot.

Unlike the other games in this series, the Sabres didn’t let up. They added another in the first period, then one more in the second. A late rally was all the Bruins could hope for, but Tyler Ennis finished them off as he dove to put the puck in the empty net.

It was amazing to see so many fans still believe in this team while being down three games to one. A Friday night home game in a must-win situation was the way to do it. It would have been such a heart-breaker if Buffalo lost on home ice.

As soon as the puck was dropped, you could tell the Sabres were ready to play. Has game five shifted the momentum in the series?

the sabres gave their first 60-min effort of the series and won in convincing fashion...major props to them for a well-deserved win...sure the b's may have been "cruising" a tad...but two major plays early on set the tone--miller coming up big real early and rask letting in a rather weak one by mairsey...

"dipsy-doodle" derek roy (the essence of the core) and connolly have yet to score this series...the buffalo pp is an o'fer...the levy is burstin' at the seams...not sure if the b's can hold it back for six games i a row...

buffalo has stood up to the b's physicality, they've (finally) overcome the loss of vanek and miller may have had his worse game this series back in gm #2...the b's have thrown alot at the sabres including goals from the usual suspects--chara, bergeron and ryder (2 g's each)--plus they've gotten two goals from "the ancient one"--recchi...not to mention their pp's clicking...blown wad, maybe?

one thing that the b's may not be able to answer is the overall speed of the sabres...yeah, their small, but ennis is shifty, kennedy is like a gadfly and gerbe is just a nuisance...plus, all three have shown that they're relentless and never give up on the play...and they have confidence from the last win

all-in-all, there's a certain amount of pressure on the b's at the start of the game...where the pressure shifts during the course of the game is another story...the old adage is that the 4th game is the toughest to win...no predictions here, just a hearty GO SABRES!!!........................solid
