Well, here we go.

This is Part 3 of the series and I can't believe we're almost done!!! If you have no idea whats going on, I highly suggest you click onto my profile and read Part 1 and Part 2 and leave a comment telling me what you think! Part 1 of the series was dedicated to the Western Conference Regular season standings, while Part 2 was dedicated to the Eastern Conference Regular season standings. Part 3, is based on the Western Conference Playoffs, Part 4 will be focused on the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Part 5, is the final part of the series for this year and it will be where I predict the NHL awards. It will also be where I announce my Stanley Cup prediction so stay tuned!

Before we start, I have 2 things I need to say.

1)Go check out AarifDeen's HUGE series called '30 in 30 Preview" if you haven't already! Its a great series and its 12 days in so far. But you can always click onto his profile and read the previous blogs. They are great and I know just by reading them that he puts A LOT of work into those things.

2)Please, enough of the people coming out in the comments and saying that I take my 'information' from other sources. What I blog about is straight from my head and it is insulting to even be mentioned in the same conversation with the word plagiarism. I do not claim to be an expert, I am a HockeyBuzz blogger who likes to share his opinion. And if you can't respect that, then do NOT read my blogs. Its that simple.

Okay, enough with the verbal diarrhea. Let's get to why you clicked on this. Western Conference Playoffs. I know the risk that comes with posting this. People will be very angry. And I am prepared for that. Without further ado....(drum roll please!)....the predictions!

2011-2012 Western Conference Quarter-Finals

1)Vancouver Canucks...............................4 Wins
8)Columbus Blue Jackets..........................0 Wins
X factor - I think that the Columbus Blue Jackets will JUST sneak into the Playoffs, and with that late season push comes fatigue. They will fall to the mighty Canucks in 4 straight games.

2)Detriot Red Wings...........................4 Wins
7)Minnesota Wild...............................3 Wins
X factor - I am a huge supporter of the Minnesota Wild this season. They added tremendous talent with Heatley and Setoguchi. While they did lose their best defenceman in Brent Burns, they have one of the most under rated players in the NHL in Niklas Backstrom * the goalie * but I don't think it will be enough to eliminate the veteran Red Wings squad. Wings in 7.

3)L.A Kings...............................4 Wins
6)Anaheim Ducks.....................2 Wins
X factor - The L.A Kings have it all. Scoring, Defence and Goaltending. While the RPG line is dominant, expect Jonathon Quick to shut them and their fiercest rivals The Anaheim Ducks down in 6 games.

4)San Jose Sharks...............................2 Wins
5)Chicago Blackhawks.........................4 Wins
X factor - Well, the first "upset" so far. But really, the Chicago Blawkhawks added what they needed most during their epic 7 game series with the Canucks: Grit and Poise. Newly signed vets and grinders will help lead the 2010 champs past the Sharks in 6 games.

2011-2012 Western Conference Semi-Finals

1)Vancouver Canucks...............................4 Wins
5)Chicago Blackhawks..............................3 Wins
X factor - This one will be a good one...again. The Canucks lack Raffi Torres, but they still do have mega-chirp artist Max Lapierre (good riddance!) and Alex Burrows. The 'Hawks will again push the Canucks to the brink, but my feeling is that the Canucks will escape in 7 games.

2)Detroit Red Wings...............................2 Wins
3)L.A Kings.............................................4 Wins
X factor - I think that the deciding factor in this series will be Mike Richards. I can envision the beast awakening inside of him and him scoring left and right. Detroit will put up a valiant struggle but the Kings will lay them to rest in 6.

2011-2012 Western Conference Finals

1)Vancouver Canucks.....................................4 Wins
3)L.A Kings......................................................1 Win
X factor - Experience. Experience. Experience. This young Kings squad will make it there eventually, but for right now as I see it, the Canucks will once again prevail and take the Clarence Campbell Bowl home.

Well, that does it for Part 3. I apologize if it took too long to reach you guys, I was actually in Ireland for a relative's wedding and I had a blast! Stay tuned for Parts 4 and 5 because they will be posted by the end of this week. I am aiming for Friday for Part 5 and maybe Wednesday for Part 4.

No love for Blues or Predators? Both are better than Wild and Blue Jackets.

I see Predators in over the BJs. Wild make it because they are in an easier division and play the Canucks tough in their own barn. I can't see a scenario where Detroit, Chicago, Nashville and Blues (or BJs) all make it to the playoffs and only one team from the North East again

Columbus in the playoffs and the Blues aren't. That's the most ridiculous thing I've read.......today.
