"Savard/Thomas trade no?"
VT • United States •
Hello black and gold fans. When it comes to dealing a player in these times many factors are in play. I for one would not trade either of these players at least not now. IF I could play GM I would hold on to both and if I needed to make a change I would wait til trade deadline 2011 then it would be just Savard You will receive more for Savard than Thomas now anyway. If you are just looking to trade timmys salary then you will have to receive back about the same salary 5mil. We have all seen how difficult goal tending is and how important it is (see game winning goal against flyers in finals) Yes Tuuka is the flavor of the month but we in Boston have seen many flavors over the past decades. Not many vienza trophy winners are walking through the door. Keep Thomas is my thought if anything a insurance policy against injury and sophomore slump.

Savard is a different animal I personally like his game. I know new president Can Neely wants more grit and speed something lacking in Savard's game but he is a point per game player. Hard to Forget about too many men on the ice penalty that was clearly Savard's fault but he refused to come clean all the way. Hopefully not a locker room divider. If the Bruins feel at the deadline they need more complete player than you pull the trigger on the Savard trade. Until now you have two proven NHL players and that luxury is nice to have since as we all know with Seguin waiting in the wings to be the face of the Black and Gold we have been waiting longer for the Cup.
