Rumors Rumors Rumors

Posted Tuesday | Comments 0
With the signing of former LA Kings defencemen Aaron Miller on Monday, the Canucks are creating quite the rumor buzz around the league. With an NHL ready defensive core of 8 dmen, the canucks look to be unloading a defencemen to pick up some much needed scoring. Although some of the rumors out there are absolutely absurd, like one heard on the TEAM 1040 in Vancouver this...
There are several reasons I believe why the Canucks won't have a blockbuster this year. 1. Cap Space.....yes the Canucks cap space is tight. According to nhlnumbers.com, the Canucks DO HAVE and ONLY 5.367 mil to play around with. Don't forget, in the site, they only has 20 players signed. You need about 22 to 23. So with 2-3 more players, we can assume they are small co...

Rate my Fantasy Team!

Posted Tuesday | Comments 0
I haven't had the chance to write a blog for quite sometime, due to class restrictions and working on my papers. Although I took tonight to draft my fantasy team. I had the second overall pick and just missed out on Sidney Crosby, and I decided to take Mr. Joe Thornton. Below is my team I drafted, and would like if you all would rate my team :) Joe Thornton - C - San Jo...

Whose better: Elias or Parise?

Posted Wednesday | Comments 0
The title is very broad. What I am really asking is who is better right now, this season in your opinion. You cannot directly compare Elias and Parise overall for various reasons. Patrik Elias has played in the NHL over a decade, where he has competed in the "old" and "new" NHL, whereas this is Parise's fourth NHL season, all of which he has played in the post-lockout era....
I initially thought this was a no brainer, but now have reason to believe otherwise. I speculated the Devil's second line would include Patrik Elias and Nicklas Bergfors at the wings and Brian Rolston giving center another shot. Jacques Lemaire stated in an interview with Tom Gulitti that he felt Rolston played best at wing, but was unclear whether or not he'll try him at ...
The news came today that Jay Pandolfo and Paul Martin are both expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Pandolfo's shoulder seems more serious, as although a timetable has been given, GM Lou Lamoriello admits he is not certain when Pando will return. Martin's forearm fracture will really hurt the Devils, as they lose, arguably, their best (defensive) defenseman. Cory Murphy will be ...

Sentiments Vs Necessities

Posted Tuesday | Comments 0
The wounds of suffering a third consecutive first round exit aren't as painful as they were a few weeks ago, but still persist. With the team's future, along with general manager Lou Lamoriello's intentions uncertain going into the off season, a lot of question marks surround this Devils team. Some fans still ask what went wrong and what has to be done to snap the Devils o...

ELIAS TO THE ATLANTA TRASHERS????

Posted Saturday | Comments 0
Source : www.hockeytracker.net ESPN is reporting that the Devils are placing Patrick Elias on the trading block. It is going to be extremely difficult to move the player due to his monstrous contract and the no movement clause attached to it. Sources as of now indicate that the club has not yet asked the player to waive his NMC, so he would still have to approve a pos...
There hasn’t been a lot of change on this front. Kovalchuk remains an UFA and the New Jersey Devils are still hoping to work out a contract with him. He also supposedly talked to the KHL, but it doesn’t look like he is headed over there. Devils General Manager Lou Lamoriello is not commenting on the situation until a deal is reached. The End of Elias? The ...
Upon the retirement of the great Hall of Famer Scott Stevens the Devs have struggled to find a solid captain. They tried Elias, and Langenbrunner and in between, the position was left vacant. When Jamie was shipped off to Dallas at the deadline the position of captain was left vacant once again. The Devils' management wisely decided their were more important things than...
